Very rare 1985 Mercedes 300D. This is not a turbo diesel. This is a vehicle that was intended for the German market but was bought in Germany and shipped to the U.S. It is a 4 speed manual; most mechanics in the U.S. have never seen one of these. The reason the VIN has all zeros is that it has a grey market car. I contacted Auto Check via eBay and was emailed the report for my vehicle and have attached it below. I just spent over $2,000 on new tires and brakes. This vehicle was valued at $7,000 by my old insurance company, because of it's extreme rarity This taupe 1985 Mercedes 300D has around 220,000 miles. I have all documentation from prior servicing and repairs. Recently this vehicle overheated and I took it to my mechanic. He states that it has piston ring problems due to the overheating, as well as cylinder head and radiator issues.
