Vehicle Detail
First of all, the mileage is not actual, even though the California title says so--California DMV did not pay attention to the title from Boston and I did not catch their error till now; the original title from the first owner in Massachusetts said "not actual mileage" and it was explained to me that the odometer got stuck and the initial onwer (a guy who is now in his 80s and could never have possibly put that many miles on it, has had the odometer assembly replaced with a used one from a chop shop; you will realize this when you drive the bike--it is the strongest bike I ever had and very sound mechanically). Reason I am selling is because I used to have a fuel injected bike for the longest time, and then I bought this Honda because it has a bigger engine and lots of power. Still, I am not used to carburated bikes and I already bought a 2003 fuel injected BMW R1150RT for a very good price. So I am selling the Honda. Again, this is a very powerful bike and mechanically very solid. Starts right up every time and it has been taken out every weekend even in the winter--never for commuting, just for leisure, here in California. I did not clean the wheels at all for a while; the pictures you see in this posting were taken an hour ago, so they are most current. The wheels and forks can use some cleaning and polishing, as you can see, and that will make the bike look even nicer. Has some scratches on the exhaust from when some drunks decided to topple it at night, while parked in the street. I never had any accidents with it. The tank has a couple of dents, one of them covered with a sticker by the previous owner. I am the second owner. Has lots of chrome and a brand new windshield (the old one got scratched when those drunks toppled it). I also added the luggage rack, which is very solidly made. I replaced the rear signal lights with the chrome LED lights you see pictured, so it made room for saddle bags which I am keeping for my new ride. But I will leave the racks for them, as pictured. There are superficial scratches on both fenders, but no rust at all. Seats are in very good condition, as you can see in the pictures. The handle bar grips have been wrapped by the old man with some cotton-like thread; I guess it was poor man's heaters :-), If you unwrap the grips, they should be looking like new, matching the footpegs, which after a good cleaning should also look pretty sharp. What else?... There is a missing screw for the luggage rack, and another misfit screw for the rear fender; it is the one in front of the red reflector seen in the main picture. You should be able to find the fender screw on the net and buy the missing rack screw at Home Depot or the like. Also, the left front signal lamp is loose, because it has a cracked base, and needs to be replaced. Still works as you can see from the pictures, but kind of dangles now. The right side running light needs to have the bulb replaced (as it is now, only the left side one lights up). I guess that's about it. The tires are okay for now, but will need to be refreshed in a couple of thousand miles I suppose. Still, this bike is ready for any trip you want to take and will not let you down. It really flies! Since there is no reserve and I am starting the auction at 1 penny (I am confident that this is a desireable bike which looks decent and rides great!), you should be able to get it for a good price. Just, PLEASE, be serious about buying and paying promptly. There is no need to waste anyone's time. Title is clear, and if you live in California registration is paid till December of this year. Shipping has to be arranged by the buyer, and I will cooperate with the shipper. Please, no bidding by buyers will low feedbacks (under 10, and/or for trivial amounts). If you have that kind of low ratings you need to contact me with assurances that you will pay promptly upon winning. Bike can be inspected locally here in the San Francisco bay area if we make mutually agreeable arrangements. You can only ride the bike with a $1000 deposit, as I do not want it be put down by someone unexperienced or by just pure bad luck; I need to SELL this thing, please! If the selling price goes over $2000, which it should, I will throw in a brand new battery (you will get the receipt to prove it), a set of front brake pads, brand new, a K&N brand new washable/reusable air filter, and a brand new chrome K&N oil filter. Good luck to you all and thanks for your interest in my bike. Any questions, shoot me a message here on eBay. The bike is also advertised locally and I reserve the right to stop the auction at any time.
