For sale is our 1998 Jeep Wrangler Sport with the legendary inline 4.0 liter 6 cylinder 181 HP engine mated to a 5 speed manual transmission. We ordered this rig brand new from Pollard Jeep Eagle in Boulder, Colorado. Optional equipment ordered includes: 1. larger rear Dana 44-3 rear axle; 2. Factory rear limited slip Trac-Lok differential; 3. Tow package with heavy duty 117 amp alternator, larger radiator, oil cooler and 4.11 axle gears; 4. Larger factory 19 gallon fuel tank; 5. ABS; 6. Factory floor mats, in almost new condition; 7. Pueblo cloth fabric seats with no stains, tears or cracks; 8. Top of the range factory stereo with CD and Tape player, sound bar and 4 speakers; 9. Hard Top and doors with rear wiper, defroster and privacy glass; 10. 15”x7” steel rims with 30x9.50 all terrain tires; and 11. Leather wrap steering wheel with intermittent wipers. This vehicle has been spare car since we bought it and it now has only 17,547 original one-owner miles. We changed the oil with Castrol Syn-Tec every year, so the average oil change has been about 1,000 miles per change. The differential, transmission and transfer case oil was all changed in 2007 along with the coolant. There is an Optima Red Top battery which is only 3 years old and the tires are brand new 30x9.50x15 all terrains with less-than 800 miles on them. The good: This vehicle is completely unmolested and factory original. The only additions have been tinted front windows, Lund hood protector and a Smittybilt front bumper. The top and doors have NEVER BEEN OFF THE VEHICLE so the factory seal is still intact. The interior is like brand new and still smells new. All of the paint is original, the original spare tire remains unused under the tire cover and the Jeep has never been in an accident. It has lived its entire life in Colorado and is completely rust-free. We have driven it to Santa Fe and back several times, so many of the few miles it has are highway miles. The air conditioning blows very cold and there are no squeaks, vibrations or strange noises. As a rare bonus which one often only finds in one-owner vehicles, we have the original window sticker, 1998 Jeep Wrangler Mopar Accessories brochure and 'The Jeep Book 1998' catalog which came with the vehicle in perfect condition and the original owners' manual also in perfect condition which will be included in the sale. The not-so-good: You will note from the photos that there is a small crack in the glass of the passenger-side mirror, there is a 3” crack at the top of the driver's door panel, there is a small parking ding in the left front fender which scraped a spot of paint about the size of a dime off (this is only surface rust, although the photo makes it appear worse), there is another small parking ding where the rear plate bolts to the left rear of the body, there is a small scuff on the hood where it touches the roof when opened (this is common on Jeeps from what I can tell), the fuel filler has a crack in it but it does not affect the fuel tank pressurization nor does the check engine light come on and there is some sun fading to the paint on the hood and the fiberglass roof and fender flares (this is also common and can be fixed by having a body shop paint them body color). Overall, this vehicle is in near-new condition physically and as-new condition mechanically. If you are looking for an affordable 'new' Jeep with modern coil suspension and the venerable I-6 4.0 liter engine, this is a very rare opportunity to own one which is as it was when delivered from the factory. The 4.0 liter engine has not had many of the problems that the new V6 has had and is favored by many off roaders for its torque and reliability. A 10% deposit by Pay Pal will be due 4 days from close of bidding and the balance will be payable either by Wells Fargo cashiers' check or wire transfer and title will be signed over upon bank acceptance of payment. We will be glad to cooperate with your selected shipping company but the vehicle will have to be picked up at our location in Boulder, Colorado as we are not able to deliver. All shipping is at the expense of the purchaser.
