Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is my 1950 Chevrolet Fleetline Flame Thrower. I have currently own, have owned and sold many vintage cars in the past, but I must say this is one of my favorites. This is a true one-of-a-kind. It started as a Hot Rod and thru-out time with the rust and imperfection that the weather has made I consider it to have a Rat Rod appearance. I bought about 1 year ago as is just to drive it around and have fun. Since, them I taken a on a $40K project on a 55 F100, so this toy must go along with other toys. I’m not sure how long ago it was hot-rodded, but I’m sure there was a lot of money spent in it. The flame-thrower system work, but I have only used it a few times. It is in very good condition considering it has always slept outside since I have owned it. I had my mechanic make it as reliable as I could. I drive it on a regular basis, cruising very easily at 40-60 MPH. I don't ever hesitate to put my kids in it and drive it anywhere. However, you must remember that even though I feel so strongly about this great car's condition, it is still a 61 years old vehicle and its performance, looks, and condition are not perfect/mint. Its limitations must be respected and expected. The car is very sharp, looks amazing, drives good, and there is nothing majorly wrong with it. Will consider trades: Chevy Trucks 50's, 60's, and maybe 70's Interior: The interior again was fully customized and from the pictures you can tell it was a very expensive high-end job. I show it like this all the time as it doesn’t looks very decent as is. If I would keep it, I would definitely re-upholster the seats and get the door panels as it has none. Springs on the seat are firm. Speedometer works perfect and has the illuminating light. I believe the gas gauge doesn’t work but I’m not certain as every time I drive it I top it off and it hasn’t run empty in my possession. Dash is in great condition, with glove box in great condition. Steering wheel is very solid and in good condition but it has some cracks. Floors: The driver side has a few cracks, but nothing that needs immediate or major attention. Chrome: Both bumpers are in excellent condition and very solid. They do have some surface rust and may need re-chroming to make them perfect. All the chrome trims around the windows and body are in great condition and almost perfect considering their age. Paint: It was painted a whiled back with the flat black with very well made red flames. You can tell it was an expensive job because the flames are flawless & well blended. Every person who sees it at shows has told me it looks awesome & always takes pics with it. It does have some nicks, scratches, cracks, chips here and there but in my opinion are emergency issues. Keep it mind this is rat rod/driver not a show car. Motor: From the research I’ve done on the forums, It’s a straight 6, 235 Thriftmaster but I’m not certain. Works perfect, has absolutely no issues, and it super quite. No leaks! Transmission: Manual 4 speed on the floor (Zero play and it shift smooth). Clutch is perfect and it has plenty of life still left. Fuel System: Rust Free fuel tank with 0 % of fuel gasses inside the cab. All lines are solid and have 0 leaks. Suspension: Very Low and it does not bounce! I don’t know how it was lower but it sits about 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 inches from the ground. The rear has air shocks which brings up the rear end about 6 inches if need be. I drive it low, but always keeping an eye on the road for any debris that may hinder the car. Wheels & Tires: Tires have about 45% life left. The size is 205/75R14. They are not real white walls but instead I put White Wall inserts. It only has the 2 front Hub Caps so none in the rear. Carburetor: Perfect, has absolutely no current issues and has no problems whatsoever and idles perfectly. Brakes: I went recently got much new Drum Brakes all-around which were turn and calibrate. The brakes work very well, but I always down shift so I assist the brakes since they are old. I’m sure you will get used it to. Electrical: Converted to 12 volt system. Headlights work (low beam & high), Brake lights & turn signals are not hooked up, therefore not working. It has no Wipers. The ignition does not need a key, because it has the old push button system that after sitting a few weeks makes you push it alot before it goes. Freshly re-built starter. Glass: All glass is perfect with no cracks; All four windows roll up and down with no problems at all. Triangle Window on both sides works great also. Title: Clean, Clear, Florida, Open Title. Body: All original panels and sheet metal, with some surface rust developing. They did repair it in some places with bondo, but not too bad. Shaved door handles, and I haven’t found the popper. I leave the triangle window un-latch and just slide my hand in an open from the inside. The Right Rear Fender has a crack on the paint. Floors don’t need any repairs but there is a whole on the driver side which is not noticeable due to the heavy plush carpet. This is not a show car and it is not mint there is very minor surface rust in the nooks and crannies (almost not even noticeable). Hood latch sometimes gets stuck but it is very easy to open by pushing the pin thru the front grill. Must See, YouTube Videos!!!
