Vehicle Detail
I am selling my 1999 Subaru Forester, it is the S-model (highest w/ all goodies). 5-speed manual transmission. This car is awesome in the winter. AWD of course, but it also has heated seats, heated side mirrors, heated wipers. Other features: roof rack, fog lights, A/C, cruise control, power locks, power windows, power side mirrors, ABS, driver and passenger airbags, factory cassette radio but good aftermarket speakers, factory alarm w/ keyless locks (key fob remote included), cargo cover, cargo mat, class II hitch (1-1/4" receiver), rear wiper, full size spare, wheel locks. I have owned it since 2004 and put about 50k on it. Current mileage: 143,919. Recent mechanical repairs: I have put a good bit of work and money into this vehicle lately - all normal wear and tear type stuff. New wheel bearings all around, new brakes/rotors, four new tires (Yokohama Avid Touring). New KYB shocks a year or so ago, maybe 15,000 miles at most on them. I think I replaced the two front drive axles at that time too. What it needs: Windshield - I was inspecting the engine compartment and left a DC wall adapter at the base of the windshield near the wipers, when I raised the hood the wall adapter (black plastic box) was wedged between the hood and windshield, pushing in on the windshield and cracking it. I've been kicking myself ever since. The windshield will cost ~$300 or less to replace. I simply don't have the cash to fix it. I'd rather sell the car for less than deal with replacing it!! Body repair history: I have had body work done to this vehicle twice. I hit a deer that damaged the windshield and hood around 2005. Also had a fender bender with minor front end damage in 2007. As you can see in the pictures, these have since been repaired. Air bags have never deployed, never been in a tsunami :) Everything is straight and the car drives right with no excessive vibrations. I am not the type of person to spray stuff over the tires and engine bay to make it look shiny. I think this is a deceptive practice - so the engine bay looks like a typical engine bay with dust and dirt. I did wash it and clean the interior a bit. The paint shows its age, there are a few minor dents and marks on the rear bumper. Also I can see rust starting in the rear wheel wells. You are more than welcome to come take a look or I can send you additional pictures. Selling this with a low starting price and no reserve! $100 deposit due at auctions end, car picked within seven days of auctions end. If this is a problem please contact me before bidding to discuss. On Mar-06-12 at 15:03:23 PST, seller added the following information: Forgot to mention, the O2 sensor will probably need to be replaced. The CEL (check engine light) came on about a week ago and gave code P0141, I cleared it and it has not returned yet. I will be starting/running the engine periodically so if it happens again I will just leave the CEL on. This winter has been pretty crazy so it could be the temperature extremes or just age. Wouldn't effect driving really, just emission testing. On Mar-08-12 at 08:56:23 PST, seller added the following information: Please read the questions and responses below, there were many good questions that you may have had yourself. I added pics of the wheel wells, the passenger side has the cancer starting, the driver side I think there might be one small paint bubble.
