Vehicle Detail
Well.... this item sold about a week ago. After the sale, I got ONLY 1 email from guy AFTER he won the auction for $3150. It read, "How many miles are on it and is there anything wrong with it?" Really? Do people REALLY bid on things for over $3000 and NOT even look at the description? So PLEASE..... read the description, ask me questions and understand what you are doing BEFORE you place a bid. That seems like a no brainer to me. But maybe that was indeed the case for jerricaandchaseyboy! (sigh) This is a very nice 2003 Chevrolet Impala for sale by the people who have driven it, baby’d it and maintained it. It’s pretty clean. It has minimal rust. The only real ugly spot on the car is the fuel fill cover (pictured). There is a little rust on the back inside edge of the rear passenger door (Shown in video). It is mechanically sound. It has had all the recommended maintenance done to it (oil changes, coolant flushes, etc…). I replaced the water pump about 18 months ago with a lifetime warranty part. I just replaced all brake pads (lifetime warranty) and put two new rotors on the front about 6 weeks ago. I had the front end worked on around Christmas. It does not shimmy or pull (see video) AT ALL. I put a new alternator (and belt) on it about 3 years ago. It will need struts at some point but if you’re just using this as cheap basic transportation, you could go a long time without worrying about them. Since we’ve had it, it was in a minor accident, my daughter got into a fender bender with it. The right front fender and headlight were crunched. I think they replaced the entire fender and headlight assembly (Kings Brothers, Redford, Mi). This is the BEST car we’ve ever owned. We bought it 8 years ago with 43,576 miles on it and it has served us well. The only reason we’re getting rid of it …. is the same reason you’ll get a good deal on it….. it’s getting up there in the miles. Having said that, I don’t anticipate any major issues with it anytime soon, but with ANY car of this age (and price range) there is always a risk, so I will say this to protect myself, it is being sold as is. Having said that, if you are buying it from across country, I would feel comfortable making the trip in it myself! I’m even offering to deliver it for the cost of my expenses (Gas, lodging and the cost of getting back home). I’d also be willing to help pick someone up from the airport or assist with the shipping from my end (physically, not financially). Here are a few links to a few different videos of the car listed: 1st video is a cold start and freeway acceleration Video 1 (Rated 4 stars): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8PdJTU3TgEc&feature=youtu.be 2nd video is demonstrating the solid and recently aligned front end Video 2 (Rated 3 stars): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mvcEFGLTIJA&feature=youtu.be 3rd video is (not too interesting), shows temperature gage at freeway speeds and not much more, but I shot and uploaded it, so here it is! Video 3 (Rated 2 stars): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQyQrxYl_wY&feature=youtu.be 4th video is car (still running) in a parking lot showing the minor exterior faults all the way around the car. Video 4 (Rated 4 stars): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85iraUpqKok&feature=youtu.be A couple last items....... The windshield has a couple cracks running across the bottom, but they are very low and not in the direct line of vision. Also currently, for some unknown reason, the windshield wipers do not return flat, they stand straight up when off. They work just fine(there are new blades on them I put on 3 weeks ago), but they stand up straight when off.... wierd! IF you choose the "BUY-IT-NOW" option, I will have both of those issues fixed. Good luck and ask any questions you may have!
