Vehicle Detail
* THE LEGENDARY BULLETPROOF 1.0 LITER 3 CYLINDER MODERN MARVEL * My Metro Is Not A "Show Car"; She Has Small Dings And Scratches From Being Housed In An Apartment Parking Deck In Atlanta, GA For Many Years And Was Once Caught In Some Hail And Shows 4 or 5 Small Dings On Her Hood From This As Well. A Parking Deck Scrape Also Pulled Off The Little Rubber Trim Piece That Was On The Edge Of The Passengers Side REAR Wheel Well And A little Paint Came Off With The Glue And Trim ( There Is A Little Surface Rust Where The Paint Came Off That I Have Documented For You In A Close-Up Photo. The Car Has Never Had A Radio Or AC. The Fabric On The Headliner Is Loose; There are 4 or 5 Spots On The Seats From Cigarettes Over The Years But The Interior Is Otherwise Clean And Not Nasty Or Worn Out, There Was A Botched Detail Job Done On The Car Once Where They Sprayed Wheel Cleaning Acid On The Dash Which Caused Some Discoloration Of Some Of The Plastic (Visible In Photos) and The Tires Are OK But Not Great... * With That Said, She Is... 99% ORIGINAL... 99% RUST-FREE... 99% OF HER LIFE HAS BEEN IN GEORGIA... HAS LESS THAN 99,000 MILES... RUNS AND DRIVES LIKE A DREAM... AND BEST OF ALL SHE AVERAGES 48.6 MILES PER GALLON FOR ME!!!!! There Has Also Been A COMPLETE Tune-Up Within The Last 6 Months INCLUDING a New Timing Belt As Routine Service As She Was Approaching 100,000 Miles (Not Because Of A Belt Failure). * This Is Great But... I Had The Belt Done In Georgia Before Heading To My Beach House In Florida and By The Time I Arrived In Florida There Was A Little Oil Coming From Around The Timing Cover; Picture Provided (This Engine Has NEVER Had An Oil Leak Of Any Kind Before Which Is Rare For A Metro). Apparently They Created A Seal Issue When The Belt Was Replaced So You Will Want To Repair This Before Driving For A Long Distance ($250 +/- at a Shop; Less Than $50 if You Are Mechanically Inclined). I Have Read That An Oily Timing Belt Can Fail And You Would Not Want This To Happen As This Can Cause Damage To The Engine Itself. I Have Cranked Her Up To Run A Couple Of Times Since I Discovered The Leak But Couldn't Risk Taking The Car Back Up To The Shop In Georgia For Repair And Didn't Want To Pay To Have The Same Service Performed Twice By Having A Local Shop Here In Florida Do It, So I Haven't Driven Her In The Last Few Months Although She Is Still Perfectly Roadworthy. I Just Haven't Wanted to Risk The Belt Failing Due To The Oil. * I Absolutely Love My Metro But It Is An Extra Car For Me And I Am Relocating To Florida Full-Time And Will No Longer Need To Travel Extensively. I Will Therefor No Longer Need The Truly AMAZING Fuel Economy That This Great Little Car Provides. So That's Everything; Please Enjoy The Detailed Photos That I Have Provided. * I Am Also Planning A Trip To Illinois In A Couple Of Weeks And If It Would Help The Buyer, I Could Drive The Car To Any Point On That Route And Deliver It At No Additional Charge Rather Than Flying Up (The Buyer Would Need To Pay For The Car In-Full And Transfer The Additional Funds For The New Seal/Timing Belt Replacement via PayPal So That This Service Can Be Performed Prior To My Driving Her Hundreds Or Thousands Of Miles.) Many Thanks and Best Of Luck With The Auction! * I Almost Forgot; Her Premium Quality Waterproof Custom Cover Stays With Her As Well. Her Floor Mats ARE ORIGINAL And Her Wheel Covers Are Not Original. Also, The "Service Engine" Light Has Been On FOREVER; A Non-Issue On Metros; We drove our other Metro 3 cyl from 76k to 186k with this same light on the WHOLE TIME and then sold it right here on E-Bay back in 2008 with that silly light on and it's probably still on and rolling down the road today somewhere! Thanks Again!
