Its time to part with one of my old airheads and this is the lucky one. This is a 73 R75/5 in complete working order. It fires right up and I ride it about once a week around town (my neighbor rides it more than I do actually). All in all, I would say this thing is in GOOD shape, with minor scratches and dings as one should expect from a 40 year old bike, but it fires right up and rides. Its not showroom, but looks good. Please note the following: Engine serial numbers match the nameplate on the frame, but the stamped number on the frame is different; I have the old frame but its bent, so I swapped frames and nameplates. You can have the old frame if you want it. There is a small dent in the left muffler and a small hole in the crossover and a another small dent in the left circular piece (see pictures) The front fender pinstriping doesnt match exactly but is close enough and somewhat hard to tell (another casualty from the bent frame). The paint is almost exact. There is a little rust in the grab rail (see pictures) The odometer works, but I am not sure the mileage is correct (its really low). I had a compression check done on it and the left cylinder was over 145 and the right was over 150 so maybe these are the original miles. I just installed a new battery (Interstate Battery) and the tires are pretty new (about 90% tread left). The right side battery cover is missing and is lost somewhere in beautiful East Texas on the side of the road. (see below) The chrome "toaster" panels are weathered and not too shiny. (see below) Heres the fun part: I saw a bike just like this one (only in worse condition) go for over $3500 a few months ago on ebay. You can buy this bike at anytime for $3500. If, at any point, the bidding goes above $3000 I will throw in the following items off my other airhead: (2) shiny chrome toaster panels (exhange them), the right side battery cover, the tool tray, an owners manual, the air pump, the matching fairing with mount. Please note these items are not included unless the bidding goes above $3000. On Feb-29-12 at 21:50:26 PST, seller added the following information: To clarify, the vin on the title matches the motor, the nameplate on the frame at the head tube, and the slightly bent frame that I said you could have. The STAMPED vin on the frame doesn't match anything, it was a replacement frame.
