Ok here it is short story behind this car I took it on trade a year ago, had issues getting the title from the previous owner and finally got the Clear Title in my hands. I have way too many projects to take on another one and I travel for work ( fact I worked in 5 different states last year) this would be one great starter car for someone wanting to get into the hobby of classic, vintage,pony,muscle CARS I had a truck for sale and a guy wanted something he could drive and we made the trade and yet he never told me he didnt have a title for the Javelin, well as the trade went on he got possesion of the truck and 3 weeks later when I was home from traveling I went to get my Javelin all to find out he never had a title for it. I went to the owner before Him and asked for a Duplicate or the original title ( as I explained the situation ) they obtained a Duplicate and signed it to me so now I have a Clear title a year later. lets talk about the car this is no trailer queen. not even a show car. being the owner of 12 other vehicles I just dont have the room , nor the time for this one. I want to give a chance for someone to get there hands on a great project ,Driver ,tinker toy, I can ONLY TELL WHAT I KNOW, I will answer any and all questions Please feel free to ask . Things that I can tell that come to the mind are as follows. very solid car, under body , Uni-body , fender wells, trunk , floors and trunk floor there has been some work done to it. body filler ( some spots are starting to pop ) DO NOT LET THIS SCARE YOU. I feel the filler used was not all that serious and or rust issues, because the belly and underside of the car is in Great shape as well as the Troughs under the front fenders, the car was NOT RUNNING ( when I took it on trade ) after a few hours of messing around we got her to run. she smokes a little at start up but tends to clear up after it has run a while. The Original motor has been long gone and what is in it is what I believe to be a 1973 AMC 360 4 bbl motor. they started the restoration on an amateur level as the paint is at best a 20 footer paint job. after it was painted the owner took ill and it sat in a barn for a while and dont ask me why but they never even closed the doors from what I was told. I have noticed the windows on the drivers door and passengers door are very very stiff this will need to be addressed before you drive the car as they wont roll up and down they will move but need lubed up and freed up to have them work better for a driver to use them. there are traction bars under the rear but the one on the passengers side will rub the uni-body so you will have to address this as well. I have not had this car out on the road as ( I never had a title for it ) You will need a trailer or means to haul this home. brakes work to stop it on a trailer and it will drive up on a trailer, But I have noticed that the fuel is Old and dirty so I can suggest that the tank be dropped and cleaned, the transmission has a leak as it drips on the floor so you will need to locate the leak and stop that ( I believe this leak is in the filler tube ) the car interior is mix matched rear 73 hounds tooth black and 74 black vinyl front buckets It has a compitition rachet style automatic shifter that needs a spring as you have to hold it up to move it. the tires are of good tread but there are some weather checks in them. YES the AMBO wheel covers go with the car ( I am trying to lighten up a little here) only because I am being BRUTALLY HONEST about this car. but sure dont or wont try to talk you out of it. She needs a good home where somebody can drive and play with it. take it to cruise ins and enjoy this car. I do not want to send this car on a carrier system to someone. NO EXCEPTIONS ! the Reserve on the car is well worth it and set low enough it will meet the reserve BID TO WIN something else I wanted to add but had forgot when I typed this listing up was if you know anything about VIN NUMBERS you will notice this car was Vin-ed as a Manual shift car as the 3 pedals are still in the car ( gas, brake, clutch ) none of the linkage is left but the pedals are there. I had a question that asked about the windows ( rolling up and down ) question was had they come un-glued, the windows are still in the troughs that cradle the window the problem is the slider and guides, very dirty and gummed up old greese, my feelings are a real good cleaning and new lithium greese and work with them could fix this issue.
