Vehicle Detail
Selling my 57 Chevy because of many other unfinished projects. I have sold a few cars on here and I am honest when I sell. I actually still keep in touch with some of my buyers. This was a good solid car that I brought back to life. The 350's engine mileage is unknown but it has a 30 overbore. I installed a new 442/465 lift hydraulic cam, new lifters, double roller timing chain and a rebuilt set of heads from a 1977 Chevy van. It had centerbolt valve cover heads on it. The turbo 350 transmission was rebuilt a year ago. It has a mild shift kit with a stock convertor. The rear end is an 8 1/2 10 bolt from a late 70s Camaro and has a 2.41 gear ratio. I am getting close to 16mpg. The 57 runs and drives great but could use some finishing restoration details. There is no headliner but I still have the bows. Some of the chrome parts are showing their age but are decent. I have replaced the hood bar and rockets with new ones from Danchuk. All of the door and window seals, felts, and rubbers are new. All the glass is new except the rear window. It has front disk brakes, new upper and lower ball joints, new shocks, new tires, aluminum radiator, new complete wiring kit, new heater core, new blower motor, new 625 Demon carb, and numerous other small parts. I drive this car every day and would drive anywhere. The electric wipers work but the horns do not because I don't have them. I have aftermarket gauges under the dash and the factory temp and fuel gauges work also. I had this car tore down and painted all the parts inside and out except the engine compartment. The only rust in the car is a very small spot on the backside of the rocker and a few very tiny pin holes in the trunk floor. The ones that are in the trunk floor were naval jellied, seam sealed, then the entire trunk floor was proffessionally sprayed with Gator Hyde bed liner. I also replaced the spare tire well. The paint job I would say is about an 8 out of 10. It's not perfect but it's not a wavy broom job either. I have restored many cars and had my own body shop for a few years. The stainless side trim has a few small dings here and there but overall very nice. I polished all the stainless on a buffing wheel. This car will need interior work. The seats are from a 2000 Chrysler Concord. I have the original 57 back seat frames blasted to bare metal and have a couple yards of the matching Concord material. I also have the original front bench seat if you did not want the buckets. The Concord rear seat is in it but bottom is close to the front seats. The one piece moulded carpet is new. If you are a serious buyer and have any questions, you can call me 918-261-7027. I'm in Claremore, Oklahoma about 15 minutes from Tulsa.
