I am selling this gorgeous car for a friend of mine . She has no experience with Ebay and i am trying to help her out . This car is a truly rare find . It is a 1982 Mercedes 300CD with only 103k miles on it , a 30 year old car , which was only driven an average of 3400 miles a year. It was owned by the same person from 1982 until January of this year . As you can see in the records and also in the Car-check report , in the last few years she barely drove it anymore at all . This little Mercedes was her pride and joy . It was always maintained very well and you can tell , when you drive it . I also do have the stamped Mercedes service book to show . This car was originally sold in Tucson /AZ and it remained there until January of this year . The car is totally dry and there is no rust on it at all . It was mostly garaged , which you can also see by the condition of the interior and the chrome all around the car . It is super clean . The body and the paint are in great shape without any dings, dents or scratches at all . The chrome still shines like new and looks great with the gorgeous burgundy color paint . The correct Mercedes color code is 501 " orient red " with palomino color interior . The interior is also in very nice shape . There are no rips or tears in the seats and the door-panels look great . The carpets are clean and even the wood panels still shine like new . As this car has been always serviced well , it also is a pleasure to drive . 1982 was the first year , Mercedes introduced a turbo charger in the 3liter 5 cylinder diesel engine for the 123 series coupe . These car were already well known for being super reliable and economical . Now they also had plenty of power . This car is not slow at all . It is fun to drive in the city and cruises comfortably at 85-90 miles per hour while still getting 27 mpg of diesel .  - the transmission shifts perfectly  - the AC blows ice cold  - all the power door locks work they way they should  - all the windows work , but one rear window sometimes gets stuck .  - Michelin tires have about 90% tread left .  - original radio still works , just like the original power antenna .  - original power sunroof works fine , but needs a little help going back  This car is really fun to drive . It would be great for somebody , who needs a great reliable car to drive every day . It would also make a practical investment . Mercedes only sold 8007 of the 123 series coupes with the turbo diesel engine and there are just not that many around with low miles like this car or in the condition this coupe is in . With only 2 owners , low miles, the records and this gorgeous color combination , this car has a lot going for it . It would also be a perfect candidate for a Bio diesel conversion . This way you could drive it with vegetable oil or even free waste oil from restaurants . I have never tried it , but with gasoline prices where they are today , it sure sounds like a great idea .  I did upload many more detailed pictures and they can describe this wonderful coupe better than i can . I would prefer to sell it to somebody local , who could actually come out and see it / test drive it . But i would also be willing to help with shipping arrangements or a airport pick up . Shipping charges will be the responsibility of the buyer . This is a 30 year old car and it will be sold without a warranty " as is " and " where is " .
