Vehicle Detail
You are setting you eyes on a beautiful example of a 67' 912; she's as straight as they come and turns heads every where she goes. Unfortunately I only know her past as far back as 2007. I purchased the car in 2011 and immediately had a local porsche mechanic replace the seal between the transmission and engine fixing a leak, and had the webber carbs rebuilt and tuned. I drove the car alot but as problems would arise that needed to be fixed and a sound from the engine (could be knocking?) I grew tired replacing parts and subsequently it has sat out for three months loosing interest and patience for the car. With purchase the winning bidder will receive pink slip and as many of the maintenance receipts I can find laying around going back to the time of 2007. Just a brief list of the work I've had done:new bosch generatornew bosch voltage regulatorreplaced transmission gasketnew timing belthad electrical gone through so all lights, signals, and indicators work greatthrottle bushing replaceddoor locking mechanism replacednew break padspoints replaced and timing tunedand of course new battery Basically it was running when I parked it, but now the with the winters weather and my lack of interest she starts right up but has a hard time idling. This as well as the fact the car has fallen out of registration for 2012 it hasn't moved further than in and out of my garage. The color was originally sahara but with age and shallow pockets it seems like two coats of bad polo red paint have been applied. This is definitely better than a twenty footer, i'd honestly say a 5 footer but sun damage is clear in various spots around the car. Having gone under the car no rust is apparent although there are about four different spot where small bubbles are visible bellow the paint leading me to believe there may be surface rust under the paint. The good news is the doors and door frames have NO rust anywhere and are pretty much as straight as the day it came off the assembly line. Currently the stereo is disconnected and speakers removed as I was going to replace them but never got around to it. The engine hasn't been rebuilt as far as I know although my mechanic believed the transmission had been replaced and logic would lead me to believe that the odometer has turned over and the actually milage is 120 some. Other things that aren't the best is the tires are pretty worn especially the front right so the car pulls a bit to the left when its driving. What I really love about the car is its such a time capsule, the rims, seats, headlights are all original. Ideally this would be a great car to restore but it shouldn't take much work if you wanted to just have it wrenched on and hit the streets. If you have questions ill do my best to answer them to the best of my knowledge. - Title is clean. NOT salvage. Pink Slip/Title in hand. - Manual Transmission 4 speed. - Engine number matches car year and model. Below is the Nada Price Guide.
