Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a nice 1971 Plymouth Satellite. The body is the same as the Road Runner and GTX. This body style is unique because it was made from 1971-1972 only. It has beautiful body lines and squared fenderwells that make this two-year only Mopar easily recognized. The car turns heads where ever I go and gets thumbs up traveling down any road. If you don't like people following you to your destination and asking you about your cool car, this insn't the car for you! Anyway, I've only owned it a couple of years. It was already painted by the previous owner. It had a beefed up 318 with 340X heads but I soon found out there were bent pushrods involved. The motor was pulled and replaced with a Magnum 360 (5.9L) out of a low mileage 1997 Ram pickup. I spent over $2000 on parts and stuff but the end result is quite nice. My intention was to run fuel injection (I have all the parts) and also a F.A.S.T efi setup that was made for Dakota pickups that is programmable. For now, it is aspirated by a 1406 Edelbrock carb. The paint is very nice. The interior is nice in greens but there is some sun cracking on the upper rear part of the back seat. It has a bench seat in front and is an automatic on the column. It is running a full one piece serpentine belt setup and has the modern high output alternator and modern A/C compressor. The compressor has not been hooked up but the car is an A/C car and should take minimal effort to complete. There is a flex-a-lite dual fan setup that gives tons of room up front and a super clean look. It has cherry bomb glass packs currently bolted to the ends of the headers and will need the exhaust to be run out the back if so desired. It is loud and proud right now and I can probably get a video with audio if needed. To me, the rear springs have lost some of their arch and should be replaced ($119 each) or re-worked. I have a new set of Hi-Jacker air shocks for the rear that are still in the box and will go with the sale as well. Another item I will offer for free is an additional American Racing wheel for the spare in the trunk. These are about $230 each. The car drives exceptionally down the road. Things that I have done most recently: Installed a new gas tank and new fuel pickup. I have also relocated the battery to the trunk. I bought new tires in 2010 and the car has less than 250 miles on the rebuilt engine and tires. It has been sitting in my garage and as I have time, I mess with it and drive it around town on the weekends. Last weekend, I bought a 2011 Challenger and my Plymouth has been put outside in the weather. This car is a 1971 model and as with any car of this age, it will need someone with a little mechanical knowlege to keep it running at its best. Feel free to ask any questions and I will do my best to give an honest answer. The car is being sold as-is with no warranty expressed or implied. If you don't have the money, please don't bid. One last thing, I have a 440 hood with the dual call-outs available for $400 if you want to go that route. I was going to get around to installing it and add the tractor tracks decals across the hood and onto the fenders... my favorite look.
