It's time for me to sell this car and concentrate on the 64, plus I just had a moment of madness and bought a 66 Roadster I've been looking at for a while which my Wife really wanted, so three is too many. It's served me well, and I will miss it. I'm the former owner of East Coast Roadster and this is one of about 10 Roadsters to come and go in the last few years. It's a 69 2000, titled as a 70, I've had it 6 years. I would get in and drive it anywhere, I put 1000+ miles on it in a week up and back to Watkins Glen, torrential rain ( Tropical Storm Lee), Grand Prix Festival and laps of the track and old course. The only problem I had was a clogged 5 year old fuel filter I should have changed before I left. It's reasonably fast, drives well, rides very nicely and gets 32 mpg. "A" cam, SU I got the car in 2005, it was off the road for quite a while before that. All brake hydraulics replaced or rebuilt in 2005, also water pump, all freeze plugs and clutch replaced same time. Basically the entire car has been gone over since I've had it If desired, we can make a deal and you can pretty much clean out my garage of high windshield specific parts, trim, consoles top bows, trim etc separate from this auction.. Bad stuff first, of course. Body is OK, basically straight was repaired and has an OK paint job, probably 15 years ago, way before I got it, but there are a few rust bubbles starting and a few spots on the hood blistered and chipped, probably bad prep way back when. Jack holes were welded/plugged. It's painted a 70's GM gold. I don't do bodywork, so if that's something you do, perfect I just replaced the windshield with a good used one, the weatherstrip has a small gap to the paint line. Can't see unless you get close If you were to bodywork and paint the car, non issue. It does not leak. There is a MINOR oil leak at the rear of the head, it is the head gasket for sure. It leaked less than a half quart of oil in a year/2500 miles. I can include a head gasket and a set of Deans studs if desired in the sale of the car. The exhaust vibrates a bit, it doesn't bother me so I didn't fix it. It's custom bent and only a few years old. Deans coated header and flex pipe, Cherry Bomb turbo, nice throaty sound, but pleasant to drive. Heater valve leaked a few drops, I shut it off, leak stopped. Hasn't been that cold, so... Speedometer stopped working 200 miles ago, gauge is OK, I can include a good cable. Seats are not stock, but are new Steel Horse Jeep reclining buckets, super comfortable but they are a little high off the floor, maybe an inch or so higher than stock, I'm 6'2" and fit OK. Now the good stuff It has a prototype Champion aluminum radiator and 16" electric fan. WILL NOT overheat, period. Only one of these in the world Full early Comp suspension with KYB GR2 shocks, rides very well, sits pretty low. Keith's carburetors, East Coast Roadster EI, electric fuel pump, battery shutoff in glove box New last year RetroSound radio, am/fm/USB/SDcard http://www.retrosoundusa.com/products/category/id/1 these are around $300.00, Boston Acoustic speakers and 200 watt (?) amp New door panels, rest of interior good. Dash cover, Volvo armrest with drink holders. Just changed the oil, spark plugs etc, ready to go Late steering box, (recirc ball), I just installed upper control arm bushings.Good ball joints, Stainless brake hoses, good pads and shoes. Good chrome Luggage rack 185/60-14 Falken tires, wheels in nice shape. Can swap for stock wheels with new tires if you prefer. NOTE Car has a stock airfilter, not the chrome in photo. On Jan-19-12 at 18:21:35 PST, seller added the following information: Just a few things I forgot to mention, but they should be known by a prospective buyer. Vehicle condition 1. The car has tinted windows, tint is slightly torn at the top of drivers window, but looks OK. 2. There is a repair to the front apron under the bumper where it can't be seen , nothing terrible. Previous owner used a piece of steel to bridge and reinforce a break in the thin metal section. 3. The top is vinyl in excellent condition, but is a bit shrunk from left to right. Not noticeable unless you are next to an identical car and has no affect on function. Stayed dry driving on the road in Tropical Storm Lee. 4. Carpeting is not stock and in OK condition. Nice well fitting floormats included. More is available from auto stores. Trunk is carpeted with the same.. 5. Car has aircraft lapbelts in excellent condition. 6. Oil changed less than 100 miles ago, Anitfreeze 1 year ago, brake fluid flushed 2010. 7. I don't have a spare, but if you want, 4 stock wheels with so-so used tires are free to take with you. Additional terms of sale, sorry to be so blunt, but better to be clear and up-front. This is a 43 year old car with modifications done by various people over the years. It is sold completely as-is.
