Vehicle Detail
Hello, I have a very cool little cafe racer bike up for auction. The bike is a 1971 T250 that has been converted into a neat little cafe bike. This bike has been a project of mine for two years on and off.. The bike was a complete bike when I got it 5 yrs ago and had 4,000 miles on the clock. I have put on a complete top end from Paul Miller. Heads, jugs, pistons, rings, gaskets, top bearings, outer crank seals, and all other seals in motor case. The bike has a very nice set of clip on bars and rearsets. DG chambers from rd250 were welded to stock headers. New carbs with slick rubber mounting plates were installed. Newtronics electronic ignition,(no points!)New battery, New front and rear pads and I spent alot of time making those custon vented brake hubs front and rear and also the sproket cover was drilled and milled as well as oil pump cover and stator cover. Bike has new Avon road rider tires that fit the look and those have about 300 miles on them.Bike has a cat eye rear taillight and a small halogen headlight to make it legal. No blinkers! No key! just a switch for ignition and stitch for light. Bike frame has had every bracket cut off (But center stand) to make it very simple and clean hitting the racer look of engine and frame, two wheels. Spokes and rims are super nice. Stock oil injection works fine.Fork seals have started to leak a little. New Oring chain and sprockets are good. The gas tank is from a t500 and really gives the bike a cool look. The bike has no tach or speedo. What I did was use my smart phone as a digital dash and that had a gps speedo. Few things that I had planned to finnish the bike as follows... The tank is clean inside but the paint is a little ruff and has some bodywork that should be cleaned up a little towards the front (prior fork slap?) This was my first white frame and also my last. It should be repanited of powder coated as well as the front fender... The bike does need a paint job on the side covers, seat, tank to make nicer but still presents its self well as is. Last summer I rode the bike to work and back anytime the sun was out and I had put on about 4,000 miles since rebuild for a total of 8,000 miles on the bike. Everywere I would stop I would have people asking about it and lots of thumbs up while riding... Besides some paint and such she could use some new cables, and a new rear brake rod/cable since the one I had broke in a panic stop and the one thats on there now isnt quite right.(it binds) The stator works and has output but i do not have it hooked up..... The bike can run dang neer all day off the battery.. Headlight on and ya got alot less.. Bike needs a real kick stand made up. The stock one wouldnt clear the chambers. I did make a prop rod and the center stand can be put back on with little effort. The carbs are new this summer and could use someone with a little more jet know how to really squeeze more out . Of course the petcock leaks by in the off position. The chambers sound awsome and you can feel the extra rush when you get on the pipes....Some sort or foam padding would be choice also.... Hurts a little.. I really dont want to sell her but I just have way to much going on (see name) so I need to cut the herd a little.... If you have any Q's feel free to ask .....
