Vehicle Detail
Got Sand? Here is a nice vintage 1962 Jeep CJ-5 4WD (mod#57548) that is ready for affordable family fun on desert trails or outdoor adventures. This Jeep had only one owner until his death in 1996. It still has its original 'Indian Ceramic” paint and original factory upholstery. Even the Koenig Model 520 steel top has its factory finish unmolested inside and out. Mechanically, it has been well maintained and is reliable and ready to hit the trails. Included in the sale are basic safety equipment such as driver and passenger seat belts, fire extinguisher, nylon tow strap, hi-lift jack, and 40-ch CB-Radio with ¼ wave whip antenna. Drive train is the original Hurricane F4-134 4-cyl engine, T-90 three-speed manual transmission, Dana-18 transfer case, Dana 25 front axle (casting# 17038 /03841), Dana 44 rear axle (casting# 18418). Tires are all terrain P235/75-R15 redials all 4 in near new condition., with a “same circumference” spare. The Jeep has a current 'clear' California title in my name. Transmission and transfer case and rear end have been recently serviced. Transfer case e-brake works properly. Steering is nice and positive, without wobble at top speeds of 45-50mph. Springs are fairly new Rancho #44062 replacements that provide a 2.5” lift. The body tub is virtually rust free, but as seen in the photos, the Jeep is not a trailer queen. It has had some trail damage that has been straightened, but left in primer. Rear floor on passenger side had penetrating trail damage that has been repaired and reinforced with angle iron, as seen in the photos. With a steel top these are noisy on the road. Drive-ability could be dramatically improved with an easy-to add Saturn Overdrive, and rubber floor mats to help reduce noise when doors are in place. Take a look at the test drive video to see if this is the vehicle for you: Walk Around Views: Please feel free to ask questions you may have before placing your bid. Happy Bidding!
