For Sale 1986 Vw Vanagon Wolfsburg Weekender Garage Kept, driven approx 3k per year for the last 26 years. Total of 94,000 original miles. All original paperwork, owners manuals ect. This van is pristine, the original owner was an elder man who used it to visit his children. It was garage kept for its entire life and only driven approx 3,000 miles per year!!! Low Mileage!!! Once he passed away his son inherited it, at that point he was in his late 50's and didn't really have a need for a camper. After keeping it in the garage awhile it found its way to me. Unfortunately as many in this economy I am seeing it become more and more a struggle. Due to this I am regretfully parting with this beautiful camper. I don't want to get rid of her, as this is my 3rd Westy and I never thought I would ever let go of this one. I need to do whats best for my family so here she is. Check the seams all around, if you know Westys you'll check them first. They always rot out due to the design on the body. The reason this one shows no rust on the seams is because she was garage kept. I also coated the rocker panels in truck bed liner/4X4 material so rust would never begin and salt/snow mud and whatever you can roll through never do a thing to the body. I know the purist VW owners will say its not "original" but in my opinion I'd rather have longevity as opposed to rusted nostalgia. Check below for all the upgrades/additions. Since owing it I have had my mechanic Luke @ Wagners VW do the following:Replace the entire brake system. Replaced Front and Rear axlesAdded a Rain Fly from GoWesty to provide additional waterproofing/insulation for colder climate camping.Truck bed liner rubber coating the entire way around all rocker panels to withstand salt, rocks, snow and various other corrosive body damaging substances.Yakima Roof rack systemHigh Powered Headlights from GoWestyGoWesty Steel Bumpers with tow hitch for 2 inch reciever (never towed anything, only used for bike rack).Sony CD/Sat radio with 10 inch sub and amplifierNew Distributor Cap, sprak plugs and wires.New BatteryRear hatch cargo bungy Van will come with all as listed above, will also come with a set of 4 spare snow tires w 3 months of use (say 2000 miles to be safe and that's an over estimate) which include the original Vanagon hub caps. I have had many Westys and this one by far is the best I have ever had. Never any break downs, no electrical issues. She has plenty of power and still purs. To make it short I am getting rid of her due to financial decisions... Never wrecked, original paint. Only work done to the body was adding the truck bed liner along the rocker panels.
