This car was originally sold on September 15th, 1949 by Paul Abel Motors, Inc. of Muncie, Indiana to Mrs. Lawrence A. Lang of Cincinnati, Ohio. Today, this car showcases a complete mechanical and cosmetic frame-off restoration to original Buick standards, completed in 1999. It has been in climate controlled storage since. Today this stately Buick is prominently displayed in Texas Classic Cars of Dallas' showroom. Goodrich Silvertown Wide Whitewall Tires / Factory Steel Wheels & Covers Jacking Equipment & Matching Spare Tire/Wheel The Super Series 50 were easily distinguished by three chromed ventiports displayed on each side. Fly Low or Fly High, many of our photos of this vintage Buick Convertible were taken at the historic Dallas Love Field Frontiers of Flight Museum, located only minutes from our showroom. We have the owners manual and the original warranty booklet. The original identification plates are also in place. The exterior styling is timeless, accentuated by the restored factory brightwork. The grille assembly and stainless shows exceptionally well throughout this Buick. The paint is Sequoia Cream and is in excellent condition, freshly polished, waxed, and detailed professionally. Open the door to yesterday's luxury, today. The dash displays beautiful original instrumentation and Sequoia Cream paint work. The upholstery has been beautifully restored throughout. The engine compartment displays Buick's "Valve-In-Head" Fireball 8 engine. This inline 8-cylinder engine was factory rated at 115 horsepower. Further inspection of the engine compartment will confirm original sheetmetal beautifully restored throughout. The engine itself is fitted with its correct components, breather assembly, and decals. An electric auxillary cooling fan has been added for parade duty. This engine is paired with the smooth shifting Dynaflow automatic transmission. The trunk is complete with jacking equipment and a matching spare tire/wheel. The convertible top and trunk upholstery is by LeBaron Bonney. The LeBaron Bonney top is protected by a convertible top boot. This stately stance is thanks to the restored original steel wheels wrapped in B.F. Goodrich Silvertown Wide Whitewall Tires. The undercarriage displays beautifully detailed components throughout. The flooring, framework and rearend is clean and detailed as is the suspension front to back. The exhaust system features a chromed deflector. Buick's Series 50 eventually became known as the Super and was easily distinguished by its unique script emblems and three chromed portholes.
