Vehicle Detail
For Sale: 1970 Sapphire Blue all original Honda CL450. Serial number CL-450-4002941. Built 1/1970. Only 12,755 miles on it now. I purchased this bike from the family of the original owner. It had been stored properly for 37 years. The original owner burnt the starter motor and never got back to the bike. He used the bike to get around their tobacco farm. The bike runs wonderfully and is a blast to ride. I have taken it on trails and enjoyed it immensely. It starts easily and idles great. Runs well on the highway too, but I never had it over 70 mph. It is all original. The motor has never been out of the frame. The paint while not perfect is original, as is the seat. The foam under it is not great, but the seat cover is not ripped. The tach and speedo work perfectly the faces of them look new and the lenses are clean and scratch free I have a crash bar that is not in the pictures (its ugly) that I put on when I ride it to protect it and myself. It will come on the bike. To get it in this present condition the following has been done: The carbs were replaced with a rebuilt set as the originals have a broken butterfly shaft. The originals will also go with the bike. The starter was replaced with a NOS one. The original from the bike goes with it. The left clutch and signal switch were replaced with the correct ones so the signal lights all work. I have the original to go with the bike. Replaced the points and plugs and had the timing set. The starter clutch was rebuilt. It was sticking from sitting so long. Installed NOS period correct tires. The gas tank was cleaned and new fuel lines and filters installed. Installed new clutch springs, checked the brakes and wheel bearings. Set the valves and adjusted the timing chain. The drive chain was removed cleaned and re-oiled. The exhaust is original with only a tiny bit of rust on the inside of the header bends . I removed them to clean them I rebuffed some of the parts that were removed for maintenance. This work was performed less than 1000 miles ago. The bike is now stored again. I have drained all fuel and the carbs were drained as well. I removed the battery and changed the oil and placed some in the cylinders. You will need to fit a new battery to start it. i can start it for you if you want fuel back in it. I also have new fork seals to go with it. The ones on the bike are not leaking, but I got them anyway as the gators will need to be replaced soon. I will help with shipping if I can or arrange to help load when you come to pick it up. I will answer any questions to the best of my ability. I want this to go to a good home. I don't think the bike has ever been registered, so I will provide a notarized bill of sale and give the bill of sale with the information I received from the family of the original owner.
