Here is a 1978 VW Bus with a 4-speed manual transaxle up for auction. I do not know much about the history other than it was a daily driver & some engine work was done. The speedometer cable is bad(I have a replacement) so the odometer is incorrect(stopped at 75k), actual miles are unknown, prior owner said about 120,000. I have now driven it about 500 miles and the engine runs good with lot of power for a bus. I was told its a 2.0 engine but I am not positive, their are pictures of the vin #, that should clarify what motor it has. Also please see my pictures as they are a large part of my description. The previous owner said you can drive this van to New York right now, and you probably can, but it does have some issues. This is a California car has a solid chasis. It does have surface rust in some areas, mainly the roof. The sliding door & at the bottom of the windschield are the only 2 areas that have rusted through. All the floors you can jump up & down on if you want, they are solid. Someone has only primed the front, around the windshield needs repair, not a big deal as you can see in the pictures. The wipers are working with arms installed(not in pics) & new blades Other areas were also primered, but this is original paint. The registration is valid through April 2012. The clutch is working but its going to need one fairly soon. It has a bad rear shock that needs replacement. I believe this originally has seat(s) in back & possibly more. The headliner is good, the seats are fair but not original & the tires are decent. Needs to be cleaned. This is a great Bus as it is, I have been driving it daily for the past week & with some repairs it will last for years. Also an excellent candidate for restoration.
