Hello! I have up for auction my 1993 GMC 6.5 liter Diesel 1 ton or 3500 truck. The good the bad and the ugly- this has been my truck that I have been pulling my horse trailer and hay trailer with. I have been using it for the last 2 1/2 years. I replaced the starter with the best heavy duty one that O'Riley's offers. It also has a brand new radiator as of Sept 11. The truck was overhauled and painted around 4 years ago by the previous owner. This truck was from Texas. No rust and under carriage is very clean. Truck starts and runs. I was driving it home from my daughters house in WI and I started to hear bubbles in the overflow tank. Truck ran hotter than normal. I stopped and put antifreeze in and came on home. Truck was cycling and running in the safe area of the temperature gauge but the thermostat was cycling and truck temperature was going up, then back down, then back up the rest of the way home. I took it to my local mechanic and he said the bubbles were from a blown head gasket or cracked head. There is no ant- freeze in the oil or anything like that. I am thinking this truck will need to have an overhauled motor or head gasket put in. Someone with the money and time can make this a great truck again. The truck still starts and can drive to town without any problem. Don't know about driving it very far. It has a CD player and it is set up to pull a trailer.
