It's also the last Jaguar influenced by legendary aerodynamist Malcolm Sayer, whose mathematical formulas helped shape the D-type, E-type and XJ13 prototype; sadly, he died in 1970 before work was completed. In 1994, a 6 litre version of the V12, diiferent from the 6 litre used a few months earlier in the limited edition XJR-S, replaced the 5.3 litre unit, along with a new four speed GM400 transmission. New body colored bumpers replaced the smaller chrome and rubber versions and the V12 model gained a trunk lid spoiler. Inside, dual airbags were added and the convertible received back seats making it a 2+2. The 1994 XJS convertible we are offering here is a low mileage garage kept example that is in overall nice condition for it's age. It came to us as you see it and we found some issues that need to be mentioned. Upon startup the idles rough and smokes. After about a minute it clears up and runs smooth. It acts like an overly rich condition, but we are not Jaguar master mechanics so please keep this in mind. There is a tear in the passenger seat cushion. The body appears to be in good condition for the age with no visible signs of rust. The power windows, and convertible top work as they should.Late model XJS V12 convertibles are in demand and beginning to climb in value.
