1974 OLDSMOBILE OMEGA CP CALIFORNIA CRUISER WITH A LITTLE DIRTY SOUTH INFLUENCE HISTORY AND ORIGIN: 1974 Only minor styling changes were made on this year's Cutlass models. Most notable were new grilles up front, including a unique fascia with bumper mounted turn signals on the base model not shared with any of the other trim levels, and federally mandated 5 mph (8.0 km/h) rear bumpers (joining the 5 mph (8.0 km/h) front bumpers mandated in '73) along with flush taillight lenses. Both the 350 and 455 Rocket V8s were carried over unchanged from 1973 aside from revisions required to meet 1974 emission regulations. Turbo Hydra-matic transmission became standard equipment on all Cutlass models this year. A new hydraulic bumper system was new. OWNER RESTORED PAINT AND BODY It started with an idea to make a look that says fast. Something to match the power. I like black cars and to accent the dark I put in some color and added the stripes for that nostalgic 70s presence. Hot rods are a big family past time and an American tradition. Since I was a good it was hot wheels and anything to do with cars. Each car I build has its own style, I factor in the body lines and imagine the color that fits best for the make, model and year. This Olds was calling for deep black paint. Hours of sanding and prep were put into the body work and pleased with the finish. The race stripes got me thinking to keep with the color scheme through the interior and went through with a fine tooth comb prepping the interior , getting it ready for some fresh upholstry and cleanliness and detail were the focus of the project. To set off the front I re chromed the grill for some front end shine. all chrome is in excellent shape and all emblems and lens covers are original and in really good shape. Interior The interior was gutted with the exception of the dash and its componets. Everything came off and everything was cleaned and prepped. I added the bucket seats for the race look and chose a style that was comfortable on long drives. New headliner, fresh evrything inside. New carpet New dash top and re done door panels to match. The chrome B&M shifter is large and in charge and make a statement in itself. Interior condition could pass for a brand new interior. GT steering wheel This car is already put together and needs no more restore. Period. All the parts there. Nothing missing. Complete and assembled. all orinal dash and gauger, etc. Tinted windows. A real looker and a one of a kind. for all the fellas... I have invested a lot of money and time into this one. My loss is your gain. This car is a classic car and is sold as is. Thanks again. Mechanicaly sound and needs no work this car is a driver. Special detail put into the engine compartment. Looks tough and is tough. No disapointments. This car is all drive and on the road. Solid as a rock. Duralast heavy duty battery, new. Edelbrock valve covers. Flow master air cleaner all the way through flow master exhaust system with tips out the back. tight and built right.
