Vehicle Detail
I am selling my rare 1967 Cougar XR7-GT with a factory 4 speed transmission. This is a real "S" code car. The 390 engine has a rebuild with less than 2500 miles. Bored 30 over, ss valves, forged pistons and a mild cam installed. The engine compartment and block were sanded and repainted with correct Ford/Mercury colors. New Holley 750 double pumper carburator installed with a Weind aluminum intake manifold. The original Autolite carb. is included with the sale and the correct iron cast intake which will be included with the sale of the car. New clutch, correct alternator, starter and harness wiring. Front bucket seats were redone with the correct parchment leather. Back seat is original and in nice shape. Dash pad and ceiling liner are almost flawless. New sequential tail light signal box installed. New styled steel wheels with Goodyear GT radials plus spare with white lettering. New wheel lip moldings installed. Flowmaster dual exhaust system. All gauges work except overhead XR-7 console lights (disconnected). As far as we can tell, all body panels and floor/trunk pans are original with no bondo detected. The quarter panels look great, clean torque boxes. New weatherstripping installed around side windows. The rear axle was originally a 3:25 equa-lok. The previous owner installed 4:11 ration rear axle gearing. This car came originally equipped with the Dan Gurney Special dress up package. See Marti report. The car was originally painted Inverness green. It now is canyon red with correct parchment interior. Paint is average with some nicks and dings. There is a flaked/bubbled paint spot under the driver side rocker panel. Small bubbled paint area around the rear window trim. There is a small dent in the middle of the hood. There is a split in vinyl on top of passenger side door (see photo).Engine runs strong, but there is an exhaust leak coming from the passenger side exhaust manifold. The front headlight covers do not work . I am including a reserve vacuum cannister and bracket with all new vacuum hosing which needs to be installed. I have all receipts for the engine rebuild and various parts, etc. I have owned this car for over 10 years but ,reluctantly, I have to let it go. Picked up a 428 Cobrajet which now gets most of my attention and time. This is a solid car which I tried to keep correct. I do not know much previous history of the car except I purchased it from a farmer/logger in Pennsylvania. He obviously keep the car enclosed most of the time.I can set up a shipper to pick up the car from my house to you or use your own shipper either at your cost. This is a 45 year old car with no guarantees. If you have any other questions, let me know and I will answer as well as I can. Thanks for looking!!!!Email supercobrajet428@msn.com
