Vehicle Detail
This is a Shaw Motor attachment to fit on a diamond frame bicycle. The bike has the original fuel tank, engine and rear wheel pully all mounted loosely on a period Peerless bicycle. The bike has a straight frame and lots of patina with the cool gas lamp on the fork. I love the little passenger seat with footpegs and the bell even works! The original brass steering head "Peerless" badge is in good shape The engine is almost complete and turns over. There is a small part of the points that is broken off and I have it but it isn't shown in the photos. The fuel tank has all of the original fittings and the fuel and oil caps both turn freely. It still has the original drip oiler with what's left of the oil line on the bottom of the tank. The tank has grooves down the top and back to fit like a glove to a frame like this. I don't know how it was supposed to mount and I have it mounted with a piece of wood and zip ties for it's display duties hanging in the back of my shop. The fuel tank has one small rust hole near the bottom of the right side. The wheel pully is wedged in next to the deformed wooden rim. This is a great early American bike that would look great hanging in a bar, man cave or garage. There is enough there to do a restoration as well. There is a fairly good parts supply network out there for these as they are very collectable. There is plenty of info on the internet on the Shaw company but they were made in the early 1900's up until about 1915 in Wichita KS. I don't know that much about these but I'll do my best to answer any questions. Feel free to contact me at (612)-816-7373. This bike has no title and will be provided with a bill of sale. The bike is for local pickup only as it is too fragile to be tied down on a bike hauler's trailer. I will take the bike apart and ship the pieces in separate boxes for $100 plus the cost of shipping. I will not accept bids from anyone with less than 5 feedbacks or less than 97% positive feedback.
