Vehicle Detail
This Willys jeep pickup truck would be a great restoration project for someone. It has a Washington state title. No idea of the exact mileage on the truck. I bought this a couple years ago to restore and have never gotten around to it. This Truck runs and drives but I would not drive it very far with out doing some things to it first (so it should be trailered). I have driven it very little just around the lake and back and to the kids bus stop a few times to start it up and run it once in awhile. When I got it up to around 35 to 40 miles an hour the front wheels felt like they were out of balance it got a shimmy at those higher speeds. A friend of mine said they were never designed to have that wide of tires on it so I found some of the original looking type narrow wheels that are normally on these trucks (there supposed to be off a Willys truck) but not verified, but I never have bought tires for them yet they will be included with the truck. The 4 wheel drive seems to work , the guy I got it from said he used it to go get firewood in the winter and used it all the time. I also found a fairly straight more original type front bumper (supposed to be from a Willys not verified) I will include with the truck. The truck looks like it was restored somewhat years back maybe in the 70's (by the look of the seat upholstery material) and the truck seems to be in pretty decent shape overall compared to others I have looked at for its age. The windows look like they are tinted also so I'm thinking they were replaced at sometime the rubber on the back window needs to be a bit longer as the two ends do not meet. The motor I was told was a 235 chevy motor but I have not looked at the numbers to verify that, it also looks like there might have been a crack repaired in the block at one spot I have a picture if anyone wants one it does not seem to leak anything, and has been that way for the couple years that I have owned it with no problems. I do have an ashtray for it ( you might need a mounting bracket ) for it. The wipers motor is electric. The heater is installed in the truck but has never been wired in for the fan. Last time I drove it to the bus stop the front brake on the drivers side was hanging up a bit. The brakes also need bleed you have to pump them up when you first get in to drive it. It also could use a new side post battery. The lights and turn signals worked last time I drove it but I have not verified it lately. The door handle on the outside of the drivers door needs replaced. and the inside handle needs installed. could use a headliner as there is none. I have another used hood for the truck also I will throw in with the truck as someone had put two holes in the hood for tie downs. There is a little rust here and there on the truck but the truck is over 50 years old so that is to be excpected, I'm trying to remember everything about the truck, but ask questions please I will tell you to the best of my knowledge or send you photo's you are welcome to come look at the truck or send someone to inspect it just let me know what you need. I also have another willys frame I aquired with both axles and a stock motor and transmission on it that the winning bidder can have also if you have a way to haul it not sure if anything on it is good as it has been out in the elements for who knows how many years. Thanks for looking don't hesitate to ask questions. Please do not assume anything the truck is being sold as is where is. Might be able to deliver or meet part way for a fee depending on how far it is from home. Added a couple more photo's closer up there is a little ice on the hood in the close up photo's if you are wondering what that is you can tell if you look closely
