Vehicle Detail
Very cool, low mileage, survivor, time warp, museum piece of a totally stock and original 1976 Chevy LUV shortbed half-ton truck from Southern California., As you probably know, most Japanese cars and trucks of the 1970's rusted out long ago because they were built with zero rust protection. This one has been well-preserved as it had one elderly SoCal owner from 1976 through late 2010. It's only non-original components are a white respray (over the original yellow) to match his motorhome and the fiberglass canopy with carpet kit in the bed. This truck is excellent mechanically in addition to having thoroughly correct factory running gear (4 cylinder engine and 4 speed manual transmission). It has lower miles (and most of those were behind the motorhome). I just rebuilt the carb, put in a new fuel pump and had the starter rebuilt. It also has newer tires. We drive it around town regularly and just drove it on two separate 400 mile trips and it ran and drove great. If you want a reliable, economical, vintage driver from the late Golden Era of Japanese mini-trucks, this is the one. The interior is great as well. It's all stock and original down to the upholstery and floor mats. The dash is near perfect and unbutchered except for one easily repairable crack below the stock AM radio. Headliner, sun visors, and door panels are also in great condition. The greatest strength of this truck resides in the body. While others may have strong mechanicals and a great interior like this one, their body has often suffered the ravages of salt and moisture... not this one. Aside from a small dent behind the passenger front tire, the body is awesome. And underneath, all you will find is a very thin coat of surface rust, and that functions as a protectant (look at cars abandoned in the desert... they get a coat of rust on the surface early on and then they last forever). There is no cancer anywhere. This is a great truck, and I have tons of extra pics. Please send me your email address and I'll get them to you. Also, please call me with any questions. My name is Chris and I can be reached at 435-669-1470. The truck is located in the dry and desert climate of St. George, UT which is about 100 miles north of Las Vegas. Thanks for your interest.
