Vehicle Detail
Incredibly well-preserved, cosmetically stock and original, 1950 Ford F-1 Pickup Truck from Arizona with a freshly rebuilt (less than 500 miles ago) 265CID Small Block Chevrolet engine hooked up to a Muncie M-21 Four Speed Manual Transmission. This truck is so awesome. Not only does it have a fresh Small Block (with a 4 Barrel carb and dual exhaust with Rams Horn exhaust manifolds and Turbo Mufflers as well), but the installation is extremely sanitary. The frame was not modified at all; the engine attaches to the stock crossmember with custom motor mounts. Same goes for the aluminum Muncie M-21, only a bolt-on crossmember has been modified for the fit. Plus the clutch actuation has been upgraded to hydraulic using the stock pedal. This is a very well-done swap. The rest of the running gear is totally stock. Not that you'd want to, but this truck could be returned to stock very easily. The only body mod is a hole cut into the floorboard for the Hurst Shift Linkage. It starts, accelerates, runs, drives, steers, turns and stops very well but it's clear you are driving 61 year old technology other than the engine and transmission. The wiring needs to be finished so all the bells and whistles work but that's about it. The interior is totally original other than two aftermarket gauges, a pair of 1960's era GM Bucket Seats with new seat covers and the 4 Speed Hurst Shift Linkage. The cab floors are rock solid; in fact, the entire cab is completely rust-free. In addition to the engine/transmission combination, the exterior is where this truck really shines. 61 years worth of hot, dry, Arizona Mother Nature create what I think is a beautiful patina. I've seen hotrodders pay through the nose for this look from a paint shop. If I were to keep this beauty, I would buff it out and clear coat it so the patina could be preserved forever. And other than some minor stuff on the fenders and bed floor (see pics), this truck has no rust through anywhere. Also included are the vintage US Racing Mag Wheels and Goodyear Polyglas Tires which which complete the ratrod look. Like I said before, this truck is so awesome. I think it combines the best of all worlds. It's appropriately hotrodded, appropriately original, and appropriately patina'd. We bought it a while ago from a gentleman in Page, AZ who had owned it about 30 years. Naturally, he lost the title during that time. He gave us a Bill of Sale, registration, insurance info, etc. going back to the 1980's. His name and signature and address match going back that far on all documents. I am in the process of getting the title and expect it about the time the Auction ends. If you'd like to know more, please contact me. My name is Chris and I can be reached at 435-669-1470 and/or christianhickey@hotmail.com. I'm located in the dry, desert community of St. George, UT (about 100 miles north of Las Vegas, NV). Also, I have tons of additional pics. Just send me your email address and I'll get them off to you. Thanks for your interest.
