Vehicle Detail
I believe that this is one of the nicest 6 spd M-Sports you will ever see. It has been in storage for over three years ever since I bought my E92 M3 in 2008. I start it up and drive it around the block on occasion. The exterior is gorgeous, with shiny, like-new Oxford Green paint. The interior is also impeccable, finished in Natur Beige. Overall, I'd rate it at 9/10 cosmetically and 10/10 mechanically. Everything is tight and rattle-free. Everything works the way it is supposed to, including all interior lights and display pixels. Here is a link to some high res photos: http://www.flickr.com/x/t/0090009/photos/21285969@N03/ At the time it was purchased in February 2002 with 55K miles, the original Nikasil short block failed its leak-down test and BMW NA paid for the installation of a new Alusil block. This work was done by Competition BMW in Greenwich, CT, where it was purchased by the original owner in 1996. While it was there for the short block changeover, Competition BMW did a lot of additional work, including but not limited to: 1. Two New Catalytic Converters 2. New O2 Sensor 3. New Left Front EDC Unit (the right one was changed 10K later at BMK Auto) 4. New Thrust Arm Bushings More recent work includes: 5. New clutch about 500 miles ago 6. Professionally repaired driver's side seat-back a few hundred miles ago 7. Conti ProContacts with 5K miles 8. Blizzak snow tires on 16" MSW alloy rims with 2K miles 9. Nakamichi MB-75 head unit with Aux input (the Nak's internal CD changer does not work); the original head unit will be provided to the buyer. 10. Belkin Ipod adapter fully integrated with the Nakamichi head unit to provide one-jack connection for Ipod signal and charging. 11. Dinan chip (I left this uninstalled after BMW replaced the block as Dinan says that they need to flash the ROM for the Alusil block.) 12. Stongard on the front bumper, air dam, hood and mirrors 13. New battery (around 1 year ago) on a trickle charger 14. New catalytic convertor 15. Car cover In 2007, the drivers door was hit, at which time it and the hood were re-painted by Daytona Autobody in Long Island City, which does work for Manhattan Motorcars (Lambo, Rolls, Porsche, Lotus, Spyker). The body and paint work are perfect and undetectable. The only Carfax oddity is that the previous owner accidentally checked off "Exceeds Mechanical Limits" (over 1 million miles) when he transferred the title to me. The actual mileage can be confirmed by any BMW dealer. Clearly BMWNA would not have given me a new engine if it had over 1 million miles on it, although perhaps another sort of prize would have been in order. The car can be seen in Scarsdale, New York at any time. Please contact me with any questions.
