Vehicle Detail
You are bidding in a NO RESERVE auction on a very rare, original, #'s matching, 1970 Corvette convertible, 350/300hp with turbo 400. This is a very well kept car. The color, Corvette Bronze, is also very rare. The car was nicely repainted once in the correct Corvette Bronze over the winter of 1989/1990 and roughly 28,000 miles ago. The paint is still very presentable for a weekend driver or a cruise night/local car show car but is not ready for the big shows as there are some rock chips and a few scratches and some clear coat lifting, but nothing major. There is also one small fiberglass chip dead center in the nose just above the point of the bumper. The mileage on the car is 124,618 (reads 24,618). The motor and trans were overhauled in the winter of 1989/1990 also (at 96,000 miles) by Corvette's and Classics to exact standards retaining all the original usable components. No boring. The valves were set up for today's gas. The original alternator and Quadrajet were also rebuilt and reused. The coil was replaced with an Accel Supercoil. The trans has very positive crisp shifts. There are absolutely no leaks or drips of any fluids anywhere. The original interior is in great condition. No rips or tears in the original seats and the original dash is perfect. The door panels are also original and in very nice condition with only very minor wear, the original radio died and was replace with an AM/FM cassette in the stock opening. The top was replaced in 1993 and since it is virtually never up it is in excellent condition with one small cut and the rear window is perfect. Every light, gauge and function works on the car even the door buzzer, door ajar light and the seat belt light works. It also has the original keys. The headlights and fiber optics work perfectly. The A/C will need a charge. The wiper door is a little finicky but will always operate. Sometimes the door will rise up for no reason? One vacuum line is left off and the door stays down. The wipers have not been used in many years so it is not real relevant. The clock works about half of the time? The windshield and (Astro Ventilation) windows are original, in good condition, and work great but the weatherstripping is also original and fairly dried out The doors are lined up perfectly and close like new. The bumpers are original. The back looks real nice. The front has no damage or pitting but is a little cloudy towards each end, but is still very presentable. The correct wheels are original and also in very good condition. The tires are Firestone Firehawks installed 6/24/98 and have 13,500 miles on them. The original spare is still in the carrier but the jack is missing from the well. I have a replacement but not correct date coded. The undercarriage of the car is also in excellent condition. In addition to what I have already listed being done to the car there is an additional S4.711.03 in mileage documented detailed receipts for items I will list that have all been done in the past few thousand miles, the entire braking system was replaced. The suspension was all redone complete with bushings, motor mounts rear trailing arms, shocks, rear springs, ball joints, lower control arm shaft, stabilizer link, a 4 wheel alignment, etc. The power steering unit developed a small leak and was rebuilt. The radiator was re-cored. The Quadrajet was worked on again at 117,298 miles. The entire exhaust system was replaced. New universal joint, axle shafts, new fuel pump, vacuum modulator and many other this and thats that are on the receipts as well as many small items with no receipts and things I can not remember. The turn signal harness and flasher were also replaced but when they put the steering wheel back on they did not get it perfectly straight. This is no a big deal either but I wanted to mention it. I have tried to list Everything 1 can think of very critically. I want everyone to get a good idea what they are bidding on instead of the usual couple sentences of vague information. Is it perfect? No. Is it currently a show winner? Probably not, but it is a very nice car in great shape that will always rise in price and will always draw a crowd. This is a real nice car but is sold as is where is. The 1970 models are the rarest and highest book values of the 68-72 bumpered cars and this one is in a color you rarely see. If you do not have the money, please do not bid on the car. Negative feedback - don't bother. Please feel free to ask anything. If you want to come see the car just let me know. I am very available. I also have a bunch of other pictures of the car. I will e-mail them to all interested parties. Highest bidder wins. I will require a 10% non-refundable deposit in 3 days. Remaining balance is due in 10 days from close of auction. The car will be sold with an open title. I have the paperwork from the dealer were I purchased it.I saw no need to pay the 1500.00 dollars in sales tax to the state of TN. to register, drive and enjoy this car.!!!! If the car meets it's reserve, I will add a tilt-telescopic column and new shoulder harness belts,(I have 1100.00 dollars in these parts!) FREE!!! I will accept any form of check for the payment but my bank must accept it and it must clear before the car leaves.NO EXCEPTIONS!!!! Buyer responsible for any shipping costs. If you want to come get it I can pick you up at the airport, just let me know. I will help with delivery any way I can. Thank you and good luck.On Dec-11-11 at 10:05:56 PST, seller added the following information: THIS CAR HAS A RESERVE! I copied and pasted this ad from a another car I had and missed taking that out. Sorry for the confusion.
