Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE 1955 Buick Century Riviera 2-Door Hard Top. This is a California car that came out of the South Gate Plant in Southern California. I have looked all over this car and there is no rust that I can find. It is very dry and has likely been in California its whole life, and was probably always garaged. The original factory undercoating is still present on the underside of the car and in the wheel wells. The car is complete. This car has a 322 nailhead engine, automatic transmission, power steering and new wide white wall tires. The odometer reads 59,500, but I would have to guess that it has been around once. However, I suspect that the engine and transmission have been rebuilt based on how good it runs. Also, the engine color is a few shades off of the original light green color, leading me to further believe it has been rebuilt. The car starts right up and drives excellent. I would not hesitate to take it on a long trip. All of the gauges, lights and turn signals work. There is a CD player mounted under the dash, but I believe the original radio still works, however it is not currently connected, but it does light up when turned on. The car was restored about 10 - 15 years ago and was repainted, and that is also when I suspect the engine and trans were rebuilt. It is painted the original colors of Carlsbad Black and Titian Red Metallic. The paint and body are in decent condition, but not show quality. It would not take much to make this a show-car. Most of the chrome has been re-chromed and is in very good condition. There are a few small pieces that may not have been re-chromed and do show some signs of age. The lenses in the rear lights have been replaced and are very clear. The interior in this car is original. It is a red vinyl with fabric inserts. There are no rips or tears in the seats. Also, the materials and cushions are still very soft and serviceable as is. The front door panels are in decent shape, but some of the stitching has deteriorated. Should be easy to fix. The rear panels are in excellent condition. As well, the original headliner stitching has begun to deteriorate, but is not hanging down and is still serviceable. I am probably describing the car in worse condition than it is, but I don't want any buyer to be surprised. This is truly a spectacular, very original car.
