At that time the original White color (paint code 050G) was replaced by this beautiful signal red color. The paint still has a very nice shine and luster. This car is an original and unmolested example of the timeless German sports car! It was never fully restored, but it is a very strong, and nicely kept daily driver. This is a car that you could actually use as a daily driver or take to the next level and do a full restoration. Structurally this Mercedes is in good condition for its age, and its body is straight. According to the previous owner the fenders are original. There is some slight rust on the floor boards and also in the rear end by the exhaust, but rest of the car is very nice and solid (please see pictures). Soft top was replaced in 2004 and is in excellent condition. All the Glass is original. All chrome is shiny and bright without any rust or holes The Tan interior looks elegant. Wood around front windshield is complete, and in good condition. The carpet is a cheap replacement and has some stain. The seat covers are original and have no tears or rips. Over the last 7 years there has been over $11,000 invested (receipts provided) into maintenance of this car, and to keep it running like a top. Both the Engine and transmission were rebuilt in November 2005 Fuel injected straight 6 cylinder engine starts right up, and has no problems of developing high speeds. However due to the fact that the vehicle is burning more fuel then it should additional maintenance will be required. Transmission shifts through all gears easily and effortlessly. A few weeks ago the Fuel pump was rebuilt 4 Michelin tires were recently purchased.
