ONCE AGAIN...A ONCE IN A LIFETIME OPPORTUNITY!! Have questions about this car? Call Lucas at 303.720.0234 Would you like to know the reserve? Call Lucas at 303.720.0234 ALWAYS EXCEPTING OFFERS AND INTERESTING TRADE PROPOSALS! You are bidding on a true treasure, unearthed last month from the dry California desert. This Charger was purchased new in California and had been sitting for 25 years awaiting a restoration that never happened. This Charger is a REAL L-Code R/T Charger, meaning that it has the monster 440 cu in HP (High Performance) motor. The car also retains much of its originality: -Original Interior (in very good condition) -Original Motor and Transmission -Original Wheels, spare and jack equipment Yes, the car needs some love cosmetically but this is what sets the car apart from other restoration candidates: -Very RARE A/C car -Tic Toc Tach option -Unmolested Original Interior -RUST FREE Floor Pans and Frame Rails -RUNNING MOTOR (see video below) A Note on the Broadcast/Build Sheet: The build sheet that is pictured and included with the car does not pertain to this car but rather to the car with VIN XP29F8G279477, which was a 318 Charger that was built at the same plant (G) on the same day in 1968. It is not uncommon that the build sheets were placed in the wrong car or not included altogether...as you can imagine, these pieces of paper did not have the same weight of importance back in 1968 that they do today! This does not compromise the integrity of the car...it is still an original, numbers matching example! The car was originally white (see fender tag) with a white/gold interior. Somewhere along the way, the white paint on the exterior was changed to gold. ALL THE NUMBERS MATCH...the body numbers on trunk lid match the fender tag. The motor and transmission numbers match the VIN and it is apparent from the paint on the motor that it has never been rebuilt or removed from the car. BODY: Body for the most part is in good shape. It certainly has its share of dings and dents but the gaps are uniform and the rust is confined to the rear window edges, the trunk pan and some isolated spots along the body. These are easily fixed during a restoration because THE REST OF THE CAR IS SOLID. Although it has been painted, there is no apparent bondo on the car. It appears that the car has all of its original sheetmetal and has not been restored before (other than a paint job). All the glass is present on the car and is in good shape (there is a crack in the windshield). Drivetrain: THE MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION ARE NUMBERS MATCHING!! See pics for numbers that match the VIN. The motor was carefully inspected by an ASE mechanic using a probe video camera prior to attempting to turn the crankshaft. He found the cylinders to be in good condition and the crank to turn easily. With a fresh battery and some starting fluid, THE ENGINE RAN AND STAYED RUNNING for 10 seconds (see video below). The transmission feels solid. The motor is complete with the exception of the air cleaner. Car is complete except for the front grill nd some minor parts here and there. Although shown with flat tires, the Charger has been fitted with replacement tires and is rolling for easy transport. RUST: Yes, there is rust but it is in the right areas...meaning that the floor is 100% solid. The floor has its original white paint and has NO RUST! See the pics of the car with the seats out and the shots of the undercarriage. The trunk floor is solid but will need to be replaced. The outer edges of the trunk are solid and thus only the pan will need to be replaced. The rust on the body is mostly isolated to the rear window. There is surface rust on the hood, roof and trunk lid but this is not cancerous. See video for walk around and narrative of rust spots. NO RUST IN THE FRAME RAILS. This is an excellent candidate for restoration...we recently restored a 1969 Charger with extensive rust so we know our Chargers!! Title: The car comes with a clear California title!
