Vehicle Detail
One owner with only 36,775 original miles. Original paint and still has the original tires Goodyear Eagle GT it came with that still looks new. This was my Dad's pride and joy and he took very good care of it. He kept it in the garage covered up all the time he had it. I still remember vividly I was 16 years old (I'm now 45) when I went with my Dad to Chase Chevrolet in Stockton CA to purchase this car from the show room floor. I would like to see Dad's car go to someone that will treasure and will take care of it the way he did and will not abuse it. I hate to see it go as I know Dad would have wanted me to keep it but I could not afford to give Mom what this car is worth in the market and Mom could use the money. Dad mostly drove it on out of town trips therefore mostly highway miles on this car. This car is in immaculate condition inside and out. It comes with a rare option that only came on Camaros for a couple of years like cross fire injection on a 5.0L/305 engines. This injection system was a very cool option that they put on a few Camaros. It makes the engine more responsive and quicker acceleration. When you floor it, the little flaps on the hood scoop flips up to allow more air to come into the engine creating more power. It is a really cool set up. It has the Z28 package so it is a little sportier and comes with a few more options than a regular Camaro. It is all power option (rare option back then), factory tape deck and comes with optional T-top with the storage bag is still in the trunk. This car is a blast to drive and can get up and go. I know this first hand as I got my first ticket in this car with Dad at the passenger seat. Car is in near mint condition and very clean inside and out. The interior and exterior of this car is super nice. It comes with leather wrapped steering wheel, shifter and hand brake. The interior is gray cloth with only one small hole on the driver's side seat (pants area) otherwise the upholstery is perfect. Although pictures don't do it justice but as you can see from the pics, the car is in pristine condition. It really looks better in person than just looking at pictures. Usually cars like this are beat up and ran into the ground but not this Z28. The following are its minor flaws and will need to be serviced/fixed by the new owner if desired: The fuel gauge seems to be optimistic by several gallons that could be a malfunctioning sending unit or the gauge itself. The last time Dad drove the car summer of 2004 and the A/C worked fine then. However, I am sure the refrigerant has all leaked out by now as it has not been used in 7+ years and will need to be recharged. Due to age, the hydraulic strut that holds up the hood and trunk no longer hold pressure and will need replacing. It is also missing the small plastic cap that covers the radiator overflow tank. These are minor items that can easily be fixed. Buyer must pick up or arrange your shipping. Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE The mileage record on eBay and CarFax report is wrong. The record that says 103,226 is a mistake. I have brought this up to DMV and they agreed it is a mistake but they told me they can not change it as its been so long ago. DMV told me that ones I sell it, I can certify the mileage on the pink slip so it will be recorded at the new buyers state DMV as to whatever mileage it is certified at. The following are the facts on the mileage of this car. 1. First recorded mileage of 29,882 on 6/1997 is correct. That is 14 years from purchase averaging 2,134 per year. This makes sense as the car was still new, Dad was still young and healthy he drove it and enjoyed the new car. 2. Second recorded mileage reading of 34,018 on 6/1999 or 4,135 from last reading is correct. It averaged 2,0168 miles a year. Dad was still healthy and drove and still enjoyed the car. 3. Thirds recorded mileage of 35,920 on 6/2001 or 1,902 miles since last recording is correct. It averaged 951 miles per year. Two years since last reading, Dad’s health was not too well and reflected in less driving. 4. Fourth recorded mileage of 103,226 on 7/2003 or 67,306 miles since last recording is totally wrong and an obvious typo. This reading showed that it averaged 33,653 miles per year. This just do not make any sense as the first 14 years of the cars life only accumulated 29,882 miles and this time accumulated 67,306 in just two years? This is physically impossible as Dad was getting older and his health was not good therefore he drove the car less and less. Due to his health it would have been physically impossible for Dad to drive the car 33,653 miles per year. The last time Dad drove the car was 6/ 2004 and it had exactly the same 36,775 miles then and now or 855 miles since last reading of 35,920 on 6/2001. This last three years since 6/2001 Dad averaged just 285 per year. It does not take a PHD in statistics/mathematics to figure out that there is an obvious error in the recording of the last mileage reading. Furthermore, if you look at the car in person, you would know that there is no way this car has over 100K miles on it. Heck it still has the original tires it came from the factory. I believe that my eBay feedbacks of over 1,500 speak for itself. In addition, I urge you to send a mechanic/appraiser of your choosing to examine the car to your satisfaction before you bid. Only payment is cash or certified funds at pickup of the car. Buyer arrange shipping.
