Fitted with a 2.2 L (2195 cc) straight 6 gasoline engine with aluminum head, overhead camshaft, and Bosch mechanical fuel injection. The injection technology used in 220 evolved from systems designed for WW II planes. It is paired with a column-mounted 4-speed manual transmission.
