Clean, solid BMW 540i V8, 6-speed manual transmission, M Sport. This series of BMW (E39) perennially earned a place on Car and Driver's 10 Best list, and Consumer Reports gave the 2001 model its highest car rating ever. The engine is a 4.4-liter alloy block 32-valve V8 that produces 282 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. The M-Sport Package includes the M-Technic performance suspension , 17" wheels, M-Sport interior trim (steering wheel, shift knob) and electronically adjustable sports seats covered in Nappa leather.. I upgraded the shifter with a UUC short-shift kit and replaced the BMW clutch delay valve to provide crisp shifting. The car also has heated front seats, power moon roof and a Harmon Kardon DSP (digital sound processor) with a trunk-mounted 6 disc CD changer. It has self-leveling xenon headlights and rain-sensing wipers.. Airbags abound in this vehicle, including front air bags, front head bags, and side airbags front and rear. It has a full size spare mounted on a matching alloy rim. There is some slight rust starting along the bottom lip of the trunk lid and the near the bottom of the door/rocker panels. The A/C needs to be charged. The car is sold As-is, with no warranty..
