Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a 1925 Nash 2 Door Sedan. This is a great vintage car for a lot of reasons, but being all original has to be one of the best. I bought this car from my 84 year old neighbor who has owned it for many years and he bought it from the original owner, who was a Dr. in Kalamazoo, MI area which is where these cars originated. This Nash has the original interior which is still in great shape with the exception of a small spot of carpet which is ripped under the passenger seat, but the seats are great, along with the side panels and headliner are all very nice, even the shades on all three back windows work as they should and amazingly enough the original clock still works. The nice difference between a Nash and Model A is how much easier it is to get into the Nash vs a Model A, plus the engine in a Nash is balanced and has a pressure oil system that allows for faster speeds. The body is amazingly solid with NO rust anywhere as far as I can see. The body is basically tin covered wood which is how they did it back then, which pairs both excellent craftsmanship of woodworking and metalworking combined. The wood parts of this car are also in very good condition and show no signs of rot. The chassis is solid as a rock and shows a little surface rust on the frame, but it is only superficial not heavy corrosion; there are no holes or rust thru areas. The body of this car is amazingly straight and NO dents. The lines are smooth where they should be smooth, and the lines that should be sharp are sharp. I looked this car over darn near with a microscope before I bought it and found NO body filler or signs of prior damage. The top is most likely original and has been rubber coated at some point but the work is good. The paint on this car is original and is showing its age. I liken the paint to an old fire truck that has had good care but has been washed a lot, and is thin here and there. The hood was buffed out by the previous owner and looks good but I never got around to rubbing out the rest of the car. The engine is the original overhead valve straight six and was very advanced for its time, when you consider the competition was a Model T, at that time, and that would be like comparing a Rolls Royce to a Kia today. Anyway the engine runs good and has good oil pressure, the oil was changed this summer and has Valvoline VR Racing oil in it because that type carries the zinc properties which are very important to older engines, not to mention it cost over $ 115. But it should be good for a long time. The engine has had normal maintenance over the years like new plugs, dist, cap and wires. In my opinion the carburetor could stand to be rebuilt, It is a Marvel and they are prone the leak and cause the engine to stumble occasionally and this one is no exception. Besides this car still uses the original vacuum diaphragm as its fuel pump, and they are sensitive to proper adjustment. It’s also worth mentioning the fuel tank was removed and steam cleaned inside. Overall this car is in amazingly good condition and needs very little to be a show winning high dollar collectable car. But it will need to have the headlights hooked back up to the switch under the dash which is very minor and should have the carburetor cleaned or rebuilt, along with new paint if you want a show winner. Along with the miscellaneous little things that come with an 85 year old car. This car also is adorned with a few accessories which are the Potter MFG rear trunk. The Inshield Products, Spot light and Buckeye Deluxe Spring bumpers with optional brass bezels. All of these items were add ons back in the day. I know this is a lengthily add, but most original cars from this era would have been long rusted out, this one had such exceptional care and low miles I felt it was necessary to inform all the potential bidders of all I know about it. There are 2 Youtube videos of this car so you can see 360 degrees. eBay has changed their policy on links so if you are unable to view this video, write me and I will be happy to send you the links direct. youtube.com/watch?v=ejMoO5QOX1c I will be happy to assist you or your carrier with loading this car, either here at my residence or at my loading dock at ZIP 49419 I had no plans on ever selling this car but a divorce has forced the sale along with many other collectables, so check out my other auction for interesting items from my collection.
