Vehicle Detail
Chopped 1950 Chevy project For Sale Offered at a very low reserve, what we have here is an extremely well-built chassis and very nicely chopped body with many extras, but not a complete car. Extensive build photos available. Please contact seller for URL. -TITLE: Clear Wyoming Title -CHASSIS: Starting with the original chassis, a ’73 Nova subframe was grafted on, double plated inside and out, and finish welded, with a 7” kickup for ultra low ride height. Fatman narrowed A-arms are installed, along with a new CPP front brake kit. The rear is C-notched, with a custom crossmember which serves as an upper airbag and shock mount. Triangulated four link installed on rear. Progressive Automotive full tubular crossmember/transmission mount installed. Engine mounts/trans mounts set up for SBC/700R4 This chassis is built like a tank, set up for air bags, and ultra-low ride height. It is super-rigid, reinforced in all the right places and should take all the torque you can throw at it. It is designed and built as a proper platform for a high-performance Kustom or Custom Rod. -SUSPENSION: Included but not installed are: Front airbags (double convoluted) Rear airbags (sleeve type) DC 1000 compressor and pressure switch Four air solenoids Two 3 gallon aluminum air tanks -POWERTRAIN: No driveshaft. The car comes with a non-running, junkyard 350 small block and 700R4 trans that I used for mock-up purposes but could, I suppose, be rebuilt. Camaro 10 bolt rear included w/pads welded to axle housings for airbags. Can’t speak to the condition of the diff because it came to me dry. -BODY: Beautifully proportioned 4.5” chop. The rear 1/3 of the top was custom made, wheeled out on English Wheel and tig/hammer welded in. Cats walk fabbed/modified for proper flow. B-pillars slanted. Floors completely redone in 16 and 18 gauge, beaded and butt-welded (front), and plug welded (rear). New transmission tunnel, raised to compensate for low ride height. New trunk floor (18 gauge) All rust eliminated from body w/patch panels. New wheel arches and rear rockers. Gas door opening filled. Car comes w/2 hoods. First one pancaked w/seam filled, but damaged in previous shipping incident. Repairs have been begun on it. Car also comes w/ stock hood. The body will need work to complete. Drivers side door is a re-skin and the door top is not yet re-welded on. Passenger side door is good, just needs panel gapping and finish welding inside. Most of the patch welds have not been ground smooth. Front fenders will need patch work at the bottoms. Car will ship w/front clip removed. -INTERIOR: Not much here, but I do have a beautiful original steering wheel with horn button intact. Original gauge cluster (probably non-op) and various dash trim pieces. I have a bench seat from an El Camino that the buyer can have, but the car might be more suited to buckets with the raised trans tunnel. All garnish moldings (unchopped) included. -GLASS: Both wind wings (unchopped) included. Good back window. No side glass. Windshield (not included) will need to be cut for the car, but the chop was done properly with the front of the roof moved forward and A-pillars dropped down to keep the compound curves of the windshield as stock. Side window regulators included. -EVERYTHING ELSE: Beyond what’s listed above I have bunches of other parts for the car including: New radiator w/ trans cooler New firewall mount 7” dual diaphragm booster and master cylinder Good grille and set of bumpers Complete set of Fleetline beltline trim (Styleline trim won’t work because of modified catwalk) Pair of used fender skirts Headlight buckets Hood latch upright Splash panels Etc etc I have been careful not to over-represent this car. It will take a lot of work and resources to bring it up to its full potential, but I can not imagine a more solid foundation upon which to build a beautiful custom car. I have decided that at my age and with my projected resources I’ll be better off with a more modest project I can drive sooner. This project has always been kept garaged. $500 deposit required within 24 hours of end of auction (payPal preferred) with full payment in certified funds required within 72 hours. Upon full payment, I will overnight the title to the buyer. Buyer is 100% responsible for pick-up and shipping. I will pack all parts securely inside the car. If necessary, I will store the car at no cost to the buyer for up to 3 weeks while the buyer arranges pick-up. On Nov-20-11 at 21:20:21 PST, seller added the following information: Car is being advertised locally as well. Seller reserves right to end auction early.
