Vehicle Detail
The1971 Ford Econoline Van is an automatic with a 302 under the hood. This Vintage timeless van has less than 93,000 miles!!!! The van I bought the van with 86,000 miles on it. I was attracted to the stellar condition under the hood and the versatile living quarters. I purchased the van to travel extensively to remote places i.e., Salton Sea, Highway 101, Yellowstone, Sonoma, Grand Canyon, and Burning Man. To assure safe travels I had my mechanic do a safety and service check to the ECONOLINE VAN, a.k.a. my future home for the next 6 months. My mechanic performed the following services: repaired the carburetor and the power steering pump, replaced the radiator, the starter, and the starting battery. I replaced all four tires with heavy duty 60,000 ALL TERRAINE LT 235 75/15 Nextn II tires. I also put in a battery bank, built an awning and replaced the hand pump for the 10 gal water reservoir. Documentation and receipts are available and go with the van. It has a large battery bank that is charged by the alternator and a 1500W inverter. I had no problems running my fridge, laptop and microwave for 2 days in the middle of the Nevada desert with out even starting up the van to re-juice the battery bank. I definitely went over kill on the power. The 1971 Ford Econoline Van has afforded my girlfriend and I to travel thru the Southwestern portion of the United States. We started our journey in Seattle Washington in August 2011. The first portion of our trip was to visit family members in Washington and Wyoming. The CAMPER VAN allowed us to travel through National Parks, small cities, beaches, and remote deserts. When we found a place or we were tired we would pull over, pop the top, turn on the propane stove, cook a thick steak, crack a brewsky, watch a little internet TV and spend the rest of evening in our self contained VILLA. We never stayed in hotels, permitting us expediential amounts of freedom as well as saving thousands on taxes and fees. We have been living on the beach for the last few months in Hermosa California.
