Vehicle Detail

Absolutely beautiful, time warp, museum piece, survivor, one of a kind, extremely stock and original, rust free 1957 Studebaker Transtar Deluxe Shortbed Half-Ton Pickup Truck from Arizona. Other than the bumpers (came with the truck... installed years ago), tires/wheels, upholstery, and an ancient respray in the original color, this truck is completely, totally, and thoroughly as it came from the factory in South Bend, IN in 1957. And since it spent most of it's life in Arizona, the body has aged wonderfully. It is uncut and unmodified. It's never been hit. The cab corners and rockers are excellent. There is no cancer anywhere. I've found minor bubbling on the front corner of the passenger door but that's it (see pics); it could very well just be paint. I haven't picked at it to tell. The purity of the sheet metal is one of the great strengths of this truck. Please look at all the pics carefully to see what I mean. In fact, I have many additional pictures. Please send me your email address at christianhickey@hotmail.com and I'll get them to you. The interior is wonderfully original as well. It has no cutting or butchery of any kind. At one point, someone invested in a high quality upholstery job on the seat. The floor boards and inside running boards are rock solid. It even has some old Dymo Labelette plastic sticky labels for the dash controls. The only downside is a broken windshield (curved glass) and a broken passenger side window (flat glass). The running gear is in great condition. The stock 170CID Champion Flathead Six had a valve job less than 1000 miles ago and the carb has been freshly rebuilt. I just installed a fresh battery. The 3 Speed Manual (with overdrive) on the column shifts smoothly. It starts, runs, accelerates, drives, turns, and stops just like it should. We drive it around town and it runs great. This 1957 Studebaker Transtar Deluxe is a genuine survivor. It's an incredible basis for a restoration or preferably, to enjoy as is. A truck can be restored over and over but is only original once. And it's tough to improve upon such excellent patina. My name is Chris and I would be happy to answer your questions. I'm located in St. George, UT (about 100 miles north of Las Vegas, NV) and can be reached at 435-669-1470 or my email address above. Thank you very much for your interest.
