Vehicle Detail
1978 Buick Electtra Park Avenue in fantastic overall condition with extremely low miles for sale. It isn't perfect, but I believe you can not find another of these anywhere in the country in this condition at this price. It has an entirely new brake system since someone in some shop somewhere apparently used power steering fluid instead of brake fluid in the brake system, causing all the brake lines to be corroded or eaten away from the inside out. So, everything is new. It has a new exhaust system without a catalytic converter, so it sounds throaty and great. It has two brand new very high end tires and the other two are very good. It isn't mint or perfect, though, and here is at least a good and almost complete list - if I think of anything else, I will add it - of the imperfections: 1. The drive gear indicator - the P, R, D, etc - above the steering column needs to be connected. You can easily tell what gear the car is in and the transmission seems perfect. 2. The swivel-type knob that adjusts the passenger side mirror needs lube or something. It moves the mirror, but isn't moving it fluidly. 3. The power antenna needs adjustment. Is isn't going up or down. Not sure why - never investigated it. It may be disconnected - not sure. 4. The driver's door needs small upholstery repair as it is cracked and split. 5. The headliner needs replaced. 6. The trim on the trunk side of the area around the driver's door has discolored to a pink due to the sun, I presume 7. The back right corner was brushed/hit and isn't bad but isn't perfect and could use that piece of bumper guard replaced What else? It seems like there are a few other things, all knick-knacky, all easy for a Buick guy and enthusiast. This is a car that gets you looks and conversation. Buick people love it and non-Buick people love it. Like I said, I would say this has to be one of the nicest cars of this year, make, and model left anywhere. It still has tons of life to go! Whether any major mechanical work needs to be done, the answer is no, none right now, nor any hopefully.for the foreseeable future, at least so far as I know. I want to be perfectly clear about the car in every way, so please call or email me with your questions if you are interested. Meier Lowenthal 206-232-3040 Seattle, WA
