Vehicle Detail
Grace, Pace, and Space is the Jaguar Lovers slogan and this classic XJ-6 has all of that. If you have ever wondered what it would be like to own a Jaguar, here's your chance. Classic British Racing Green exterior and an interior with tan Connolly leather, walnut inlays as only Jaguar can do them, and wool carpeting that's likely better grade than the carpet in your home, this automobile makes a classy impression. The creature comforts and appearance enhancements include, fully electric adjustable seats, steering wheel and mirrors, fog lights, comfort and sport settings on the ZF automatic transmission with automatic or manual shift gates, thermostatic climate control, clock, outside temperature, AM/FM/cassette stereo, full instrumentation, trip computer, cruise control, electric two-way sunroof, rear heat and air conditioning, electric rear window defrost, rear seat center armrest, and alloy wheels. The power comes from the highest evolution of Jaguar's famous Le Mans-winning inline 6 powerplant, the AJ-6. This all aluminum 4.0 litre engine features, a true hemi cylinder head, dual overhead camshafts with chain drive for longevity, 11.0:1 compression ratio, four valves per cylinder, electronic fuel injection, an individual ignition coil for each cylinder, an electronic engine management. A K&N lifeftime air filter has been added as an upgrade and the cam cover has been given a high polish. Although the engine delivers performance that makes freeway entries and passing effortless, it can still deliver 26 mpg on the highway. The suspension is fully independent with the rear using the classic XK-E sports car layout. The brake pads have been upgraded to Hawk HPS sport pads. The tires have been upgraded to Dunlop SP Winter Sport M3 performance winter/snow tires (which also work great in the summer). This suspension provides exceptional comfort for long trips, but also provides surprisingly sporty handling capability. It has the complete set of factory manuals, owners, service, stereo, electrical, etc. and I will also include the complete factory service manual on a computer CD. I purchased this car in January 2002 from a gentleman who had owned a Kentucky Jaguar dealership. I have all maintenance records since then. He had purchased it off lease and this had been his wife's car and was maintained at his shop. The car is not a 'garage queen', but has been used as a daily driver and is in overall good to very good condition having been owned by enthusiasts. I have always used a windshield sunshade when parking outside to protect the dash. The body is straight and it has not been in an accident. The paint is bright (I always used a premium 3-step car finish), but it has some small rock chips and areas of paint 'crazing' on the trunk lid that is typical of 'saturated pigment' colors. The windshield was replaced in September. The car has never been smoked in. There are minor trim elements that need attention: e.g., ventilation system vent vanes, door interior panel fasteners, front plastic air dam, windshield washer bottle, and a cracked headlight lense. The engine code reader indicates that it needs heated oxygen sensor replacement. The low reserve is set in consideration that the successful bidder may want to address these service items. This Jaguar has only been driven an average of 4,700 miles per year for the last three years.
