Vehicle Detail

This is a gorgeous, and unique car that i have only had the pleasure of owning since this summer. It is in very original condition, but very, very clean, rust-free and runs and drives great. the car has 61554 Kilometers on it (roughly 38,000 miles) Here is what know of the car's history (as per the included documents): It spent its early years in Cantania, Sicily- Italy, where it was purchased used by a navy service member who used the car there while stationed in Italy. It was then imported to the US by that service member in 2006. The car remained in storage in the California high desert until this summer, when i brought it down to san diego. Included in the sale are all the importation documentation. The car now has a clean California title and is registerd until november of next year. when I purchased the car, it was just a bit dirty, with some scratches and dings in the original polar white paint (see last picture in front of big red truck), I had it sprayed to match the original paint and just cleaned her up a bit- changing the fluids, filters, and ignition tune up. somewhere along the line, someone put in an upgraded 600 motor (they are essentially identical to the 500 motor, just more powerful). Otherwise, i believe she is all original and looks great. this is the first fiat 500 that i have driven so i dont have much to compare it to, but here are my impressions: The car starts easily, and warms up quickly. the gearing is short so it it doesnt take much to get through first gear. second in third have great acceleration, particularly at mid RPMs, fourth will cruise you at about 65 mph.( feel free to email me and i will send you a video of the car cruising down Interstate 5 at about 60-65mph passing a truck). the big sunroof make s the car feel like a convertible but is tight and dry. The steering and handling is lively and fun- much like a go cart. the turning radius is really small which makes running through curves a blast. But the best thing of all is the attention it gets. you literally cannot go anywhere without people asking you about the car, pointing, honking, waving, even asking if they can take thier picture with it. I think these cars will get even more attention and popularity and increase in value as the 2012 version of the 500 start becoming more popular. Here is a link to the You Tube video from BBC's Top Gear episode where it is nominated the the "Greatest Car Ever! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PUcAkucShzQ The Good- paint is virtually new all glass and seals look great brand new Bosch battery tires have good tread- including the full sized spare (spare was not in car for photos) includes jack, lug wrench, original washer fluid bag (washer pump needs replacement) and factory lug wrench box Interior is clean- carpet is nice with no rips or stains. seats have no rips or tears all electicals work as they should The Not -as Good the sunroof looks good but has some small scuffs, and was repaired at some point by rethreading the corner (see picture). It does not affect functionality when the car was stored, someone did so with two spare tires in the rear seat. this left a slight inpression of the tire in the vinyl. it is not bad, and is getting better with time.( the car has been garaged since i owned it, but i bet after a few months of use and warming/expanding of vinyl in the sun, these marks will all but disappear. (see pics of back seat area to see this) on the back , to the right of the license plate, there are a few very slight ripples in the paint. it can only be seen in certain light, and does not really show in any of the photos that i took with the purpose of pointing this out. its really not a big deal, but i wanted to try to point it out. I hate to have to sell this car, but i just bought a bmw isetta and i need the garage space. this car is too nice to be left outside -even in a mild southern california winter. Please do not hesitate to ask questions, request pictures of any details or set up a time to take a look. i will try to be as honest and accomodating as possible. I will help to facilitate shipping/ transport if need be. you need to set it up, but i will do everything i can to help. thanks- On Nov-10-11 at 19:41:14 PST, seller added the following information: I may have gotten false information about the motor being a 600 motor. It may be the original motor. i dont know much about these cars and was relying on the info from the previous owner. here is the information that is stamped on the engine block : "fiat 126a1000 9185423" sorry for any confusion. thanksOn Nov-10-11 at 23:09:16 PST, seller added the following information: New update: upon doing a little research, it looks like the motor IS indeed a 600 cc (594cc -actual) upgrade from the 500cc (499 cc-actual). at least that is what the chart on the following website states accorsing to the motor ID number. http://www.fiat500america.com/2008/10/identifying-your-fiat/ regardless, the motor is really strong and seems to move the car along nicely
