Vehicle Detail

What a great barn-find, survivor, time-warp, museum piece, totally stock and original, very well-preserved example of the classic and coveted 1956 Ford F100 short bed pickup truck. This truck is the Holy Grail for Ford truck fans and rarely does one come up that has aged as well as this one. The only thing that would separate this from the best of the best of the 1956 Ford F100 series is lack of the big back window option and Y-Block V-8 but have you priced those lately? Other than that, it's got everything. For starters... the running gear is excellent; it's got the factory Inline 6 running through a Borg Warner T98 4 speed synchro transmission to the original Dana 44 rear differential with 3.92 gearing. The carb was just rebuilt and a new fuel pump installed. This truck starts right up, accelerates, drives straight, turns, and stops just like 1956. And look at the interior; it even has the original seat upholstery. The dash has aged well, with all knobs and switches, the original red and absolutely no cutting or modification other than a working, period correct dash light. Doors open and close properly and all glass is intact except for the driver side door window, which is still in one piece and flat for pattern making. The drivers side floorboard has rust and should be repaired. other than that, the purity of the interior is one of this truck's real strengths. The exterior has aged very well and has a patina that only 55 years of Mother Nature could provide. It looks like it may have had one respray in the original red many eons ago. And the rust issues are pretty minor. They are confined to the drivers side cab corners and floor pan, the front right cab corner, and some little stuff in the front fender wells. Look at the pics in detail or send me an email at christianhickey@hotmail.com and I'll send you a whole bunch of additional pics. This truck is a real beauty in it's own way. I think it's way too original to hot rod unless everything you do is easily reversible back to stock. It's certainly a great restoration candidate but then it would lose it's patina. A truck can be restored over and over but it's only original once. I hope it goes to someone who will sharpen it's rough edges, preserve it's originality and enjoy it regularly... just my two cents. My name is Chris and I would be happy to answer your questions. I can always be reached at 435-669-1470.
