Vehicle Detail

This SS was built in early June of '64 making it one of the last of it's run. Arguably the last year of the "Classic" Impala SS cars. Check out the options on the window sticker. This Impala is as close to "museum quality" as it gets. Finished in the correct Satin Silver Metallic with the Red interior gives a rare and stunning contrast. The paint is base coat/clear coat and perfect with no blems, scratches or dings. The interior is completely done over and all is new. There are no excuses anywhere on the appearance. The painstaking detail and restoration work is second to none. The engine compartment has been completely detailed and shows beautifully. The trunk is the same with a new spare, proper trunk decals, restored original jack and correct spatter paint. The car was from Louisianna and still has it's original floors, supports, quarters, etc. This is not a Northern rust bucket. All the chrome, moldings and emblems that showed any wear were replaced with new. The car sits properly and all the fit and alignment on the panels are right. The doors have that wonderful "click" when shut that so many cars have lost over the years. All the glass is nice and all windows roll up and down with ease. All the locks work properly and it even has the "your key to a greater value" GM keys. When you start the car first thing, the "cold" light comes on in the dash until operating temperature is reached. No noises from the engine whatsoever! Goes right to fast idle until engine warms up then drops right down to normal speed. No hesitation and the powerglide shifts as it should with a nice crisp shift. The engine was rebuilt only a few thousand miles ago and if you remove a valve cover you will see shinny cast iron with no signs of usage. I even took the intake off and the lifter valley looks brand new. As you can see, no corners have been cut to make this one of the nicest '64 SS cars on the market. EVERY ITEM WORKS! (even the original clock, radio fader for the rear speaker, back up lights, T-3 headlights, horns, etc.) Anyone who has ever done a restoration knows the cost to get a car to look and perform as this one.You could never restore an SS for the price of this one. Much time was put into making sure this is a MATCHING NUMBER CAR! I also beleive it to have the original motor, transmission and positraction. For the numbers people: Engine pad-T0603D, Block casting #3834810 and block date code E2764 Transmission C0604N, Positraction 3789811-D2964 Altenator 1100668-37A, 4F1, Voltage Regulator 119515 12V N 4E, Horn Relay 824-12V Heads Left-F264 and right D1364, Carb 7024101 E4, Intake 3840905 J303 FOR THE NERVOUS INTERNET BUYER: When you come to pick up the car, if it is not as I have described, walk away. You will not be obligated to purchase. That's as fair as I can be. I'm a 66 year old car enthusiast who has been collecting for about 50 years. I know the difference between a nice car and an OK car. Please check my feedback and bid with confidence. This is not your average Chevy! Inspections are welcomed, you must arrange your shipping and the car naturally does NOT carry a warranty. THE MILEAGE SHOWN IS WHAT I BOUGHT IT WITH. I do not state that they are real miles as I have no way of checking. It may have been set back at restoration or it may have gone around. I simply do not know. Please ask any questions you may have. Wire transfer is preferred but a check is OK. The car & Title will not be released until all funds have cleared. Your deposit is non-refundable under any circumstance. I covered a lot, but not everything. Happy bidding. Ray PS: If you pay the "buy it now" price, I will include a set of NOS wire wheel covers that have only been used for a couple of shows. Still in their original GM boxes.
