Vehicle Detail

I am out of town until next week Tuesday. I'll get to the car the eve of 11/9 and take some picture of the frame and closeups of the rotted quarter panels. Since there is interest, I've changed this to an auction and set a very reasonable reserve price. Thanks for all the interest. For sale a 67 Sport Fury Convertible. This car has a great VIN ... coming from the factory with a 383 4 bbl. Unfortunately, that engine is long gone and in its place is a 383 2 bbl from 1970 (I don't know the story behind how the engine got swapped). I also have not verified if the transmission came with the engine or is the original. I bought this car 3 1/2 years ago and it has been inside ever since. I paid too much because I wasn't careful to verify that the engine was the original. You will not pay too much because now you know. I have come to realize (a common story) that I will not get to this car. I have too many other projects. The engine runs well so it might serve as the starting point for a reconstruction of a 383 4 bbl. The car runs and drives nice. I also have a 383 block, .030 over, from a 66 Charger, a pair of 906 heads and a 4 bbl. intake (period correct) that will go with the sale. There were only about 3300 Sport Fury convertibles made so this car has value to restore. The rear quarters are gone and will need to be replaced (as well as the trunk extensions). I have the replacement panels and extensions that of course come with the sale. The interior will need to be restored but replacement covers for the bucket and rear seats are available from Legendary Interiors not too far from me in Western NY. I have a NYS transferable Registration which is what this state uses for ownership proof. The original color is supposedly 'bronze' but it looks more like burgundy now ... less paint to remove before refinishing. The convertible top is white. I picked the closest color for the interior as gold but I believe the right covers as listed at Legendary are bronze. The car has its wheelcovers and all the trim with the exception of one Commando V8 emblem (I've seen these on ebay). The rear end is not a Sure Grip as far as I can tell from the fender tag. The car still has its CERTICARD with punched letter plastic strips attached that show the original owner, sold in late 1966. The car is about 50 miles from my main home so I'll include the pictures I have on my computer for now. Buyer to contact me via email within 24 hours of end of auction and $250 deposit via PayPal within 72 hours. The balance can be a cashiers check or cash when you pick up the car (or to me and cleared before your shipper picks up the car). On Nov-08-11 at 17:30:33 PST, seller added the following information: I got to the car today and took some pictures. I am not a C-body expert but I don't see any serious rot other than the quarters ... the left rear being the worst.
