1999 HONDA REBEL CMX250C/C2 I purchased this motorcycle as a starter bike for myself this past March 2011 and I am now confident enough to move up to the next level. I added the new windshield in April to the bike. I also added some new rebel replacement mirrors. The bike starts great and has absolutely NO ISSUES! It was garage kept before me and I have maintained it the same. This is a great starter bike with lots of mileage left to enjoy. It uses the same 234 cc (14.3 cu in) straight-two engine as the Honda CB250 Nighthawk standard. The Rebel is part of the CM series of cruisers. Since its wet weight is 320 lb (145 kg) it is commonly used in the Motorcycle Safety Foundation's certified rider-training courses. The Rebel averages 52 mpg-US (4.5 L/100 km; 62 mpg-imp), with refills needed at around 190 mi (310 km). Its maximum speed is 70 mph (110 km/h). It has a single disc brake in the front and a drum in the rear. The only gauge is a speedometer that includes gear recommendations based on speed; there is no tachometer.
