For your consideration is this 1966 Ford Custom 500 2 door sedan. This car is nicely equipped with a 289, automatic, power steering and standard brakes. The car is showing 38,559 miles, these are believed to be the original miles. I purchased the car about 6 years ago, it came from western Indiana and does have some rust in it. There is visible rust in the doors, front fenders, and bubbles in the lower quarters. The floor pans and trunk floor is good, the rear wheel wells have been patched and there is rust in the frame. The interior is in great shape, there are some stains on the seats that should clean up very nice. There are no tears or rips in the seats and the upholstery is still very soft and pliable. The door panels are also in excellent shape. All glass is good, the windshield is new. The car does run but has a stuck lifter that makes a terrible racket at idle. The car runs on a gallon jug, the tank is trash like most cars that have been sitting and it does not have brakes. I have only run a couple of gallons of gas through it, the engine sounds great except for the lifter, the exhaust was even new when it was parked! The story I was told when I bought the car is that the heads were removed and rebuilt for unleaded gas, then the car was parked. I have a clear Indiana title for the car. This is a total project, the frame can be patched but you still have a repaired frame. It would make an excellent 427 clone, great driver or valuable parts car. I have taken several pictures, but just ask if you would like to see more. I have had the car for 6 years, do not need it, and do not have time to work on it so it is time to let it go.
