Vehicle Detail

I am continuing to reduce my very small collection of older Hondas, and this Superhawk is one I better sell before I get too fond of it. The vintage price guide shows these are increasing in value with the condition of this one estimated in the $3,000 to $4,000 range. I've been riding it this fall, and just love to get out on the country roads with it. This is original except for the beautifully repainted fenders and side covers. The black paint looks excellent from a few feet but does have some cracking that you will see in the images. Chrome looks good but has small imperfections here and there and some minor blistering. The best thing about the bike is how well it runs. With over 25,000 miles I am amazed. The compression is 150 in each cylinder. The oil is fresh and the sludge trap has been cleaned. Tires are new, tank is clean and the petcock is rebuilt. The chain guard is not cracked, the grab handle is there and everything but the high beam works. It has that really neat seat with the front portion that molds to the tank.I like original bikes with this sort of patina, but if you want a Superhawk for a restoration this would be ideal. The mufflers look great but they do have patched areas underneath and the right side has a silver patch near the end that you can see in the pictures. So they are useable they way they are, but would need to be replaced for a restoration. Tank badges would need replacing for a restoration. The left one is pretty good, the right one is there but sort of cruddy looking. The engine case screws have been replaced with allen head screws at some time. I tried to get good images so you can see the bike's cosmetic condition. As far as its running condition, I've checked it over and serviced it to where I feel safe on the road with it. The video should help. Brakes have been cleaned and adjusted, chain is in excellent condition and wheels and tires are in excellent riding condition. I have a spare set of wheels with very good chrome that will go with the bike. Carbs are clean, points and timing adjusted and it has new plugs. I can go outside, start it up and go riding just like it sits.I may be available to deliver it for $1 a loaded mile, $50 minimum but please email to inquire. On Nov-01-11 at 05:42:15 PDT, seller added the following information: Just a few additional notes that came up in emails and might help others with questions. The bike starts with just a touch of the starter button. So yes, the starter works well. The kick start works perfectly and starts the bike just as easily. I had the bike running in the video because I had to set the camera down while I started it. I do not know if the engine has been rebuilt but the bolts on the top end look undisturbed. The mileage is original. I took the title to the MVA to have it transferred to my name so there won't be any problems for the new owner. On Nov-05-11 at 22:16:48 PDT, seller added the following information: The high and low beam DO work. The description above says otherwise. Sorry.
