This is a rare blue 1971 Datsun 240Z with its original dual carbureted 2.4L inline 6 cylinder engine. Since I purchased the vehicle, I have had a lot of work done on the car. I do not know the mileage of the car with certainty, the odometer reads 83708 miles and it has not turned over since I purchased it. I assume it's 183,708. My original plan was to put a 280ZX turbo 2.8L engine in it. Since I no longer have the time or the money to restore the beauty of this car, I have decided to sell it. The car is very reliable with good performance. It has never left me stranded anywhere. In the last 10 months, I had the carbs completely rebuilt. The carbs were fully serviced, tuned, and balanced at Zwhizz Auto Repair. I also had the gas tank fuel lines and vapor return lines replaced as well as the fuel filler hose. The tank was also flushed and cleaned. The distributor was replaced with a 280ZX electronic distributor. Here is some information about what else you would be getting: * Original block with flattop pistons * Original E31 head (rebuilt with new head studs) * N36 intake manifold * New water pump (Autozone) * New spark plugs (copper NGK split v) * New carpet and vinyl (Classic Datsun Motorsports) * 280Z shift lever * New hoses * Many new grommets * Replaced freeze plugs Installed parts from 280zx: * 5 speed manual transmission * R200 3.90 differential * Half shafts * Electronic Distributor * New alternator, internally regulated (Autozone) * Turbo oil pump, high pressure/volume * Turbo head bolts, high strength Other installed parts: * 6-1 header (Motorsport Auto, Orange, CA) * 2.5" aluminized exhaust (Motorsport Auto) * Autometer Phantom gauges (Water Temp, Oil Pressure, Fuel Level) * Robertshaw 180 deg thermostat * Boyds 15x7 wheels * Kumho ecsta 215/55R15 tires * Magnecor plug wires * MSD Blaster 2 coil Issues: rear end damage from hit and run driver (Vons parking lot), typical rust NO THROUGH AND THROUGH. Currently registered to May 2012. No smog needed. I have this vehicle for sale locally and reserve the right to end auction early.
